Re: [FIXED] Sims are not moving/Freezing/Animation problems

HI @AlejaU1

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by clicking on the dots in EA app.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

  • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
  • Tray Folder
  • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
  • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
  • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
  • ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
  • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

  • I’ve been having this exact issue and I’ve done absolutely everything. I’ve done several factory resets. I’ve reinstalled/repaired the games numerous times. I even tried playing on Windows through EA Play and for some reason it’s still just as broken. I have no custom content installed and havent for several weeks. The only potential reason I have is the possibility of a corrupt pack. Upon reinstalling on Origin, I was missing packs purchased from Steam (Get to Work, Island Living and Werewolves + a few kits) but my game was working completely fine. When I reinstalled those packs through a backup, my game broke once again.

  • I've done the factory reset, removed all mods and cc and even tried removing my packs. Nothing has fixed this problem by the way.

  • How my own attempts went.

    - Uninstalled game and made sure all DLC and mods were also deleted.

    - Reinstalling just the base game, no issues. Sims are working as they should.

    - When DLC is added back in, the issue returns.

    - Tried to run the game with all my DLC BUT laundry day, since that works for some. Sadly, it did not help.

No fix, but I can confirm the issue has something to do with one or more of the DLCs since the base game works fine.

  • What would you reccomend for Console players for this issue? When this happens I'm also unable to click anything or pause/rewind/ ect
