Re: [FIXED] Sims are not moving/Freezing/Animation problems

Yeasterday  when i launched my game my sims were just standing staring blank infront of them and when i tried to do some tasks like: Shower, cook, sit, sleep, play with toys the sims would not  do the task or it will become stuck in the task bar or it would look like they were doing it but they would still be standing in the same place like before. I think that the only task that works is walking(i havent tried doing much other tasks). I tried almost everything, i restarted the game and my computer, repaired the game in the ea app, i deleted all my cc and mods and deleted all my saves, made a new one and the new sim would act the same way like the sims in my previous save. I have spend the last hour and a half trying to find some solution but i cant find any. If you have some answer for my problem please reach out to me. 🙂

  • I own the pack and when i deleted it the game started to work! So it really seems like the Laundry Pack is causing the game to not work. 🙂

So, I continued testing today, as I thought there was another issue besides Laundry Day, as Sims danced instead of doing the actual command I gave them... Looks like they simply were stuck in that animation.

I disabled more packs and addons, down to only the base game being active, and they still didnt behave as expected... Then, when I resetting the Sims before letting them interact, they acted normally.

Right now, I finished a final test... Empty Mods folder, all packs activated except Laundry Day, resetting the Sims right after entering the household, and commanding them to hug. And they hugged! No freezing, no idle animation, no dancing.

    Working as expected!

the same here! reinstalled my game and added packs one by one, not enabling laundry day fixed my issue

  • Hi... Just saying I had the same issue and followed @Ossborn's lead, reinstalled my packs and ditched laundry day folder (SP13) and the sims moved around as normal - in fact, I didn't even need to reset them... they spawned by their beds when I loaded the game. I'm sure it's not the same issue as the old sims-lagging thing.

Just to be double sure I put SP13 back and loaded the same save aaand... they were sleeping standing in the middle of nowhere, and the motive bar color won't change, either.

Also removing the pack solve an issue with open waters (Sulani, etc.) being broken and untraversable https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Sulani-sea-amp-open-water-broken-crashes-game/m-p/12386561#M242493 So I suppose they had a common cause. It seems like it also causes Last exceptions. (I had a particularly long one yesterday, but it's gone now.)

Ps. if you had the same issue, could you check and see if your waters are broken, too? Open waters, not the pools! 🙌

  • I bought the new pack today and since installing that my game seems to be fixed! Thank you for your help before 🙂

  • Hopefully much of your stuff is still in the library. It's not the mods, other than the 6 I had to update. You should have used better exceptions instead of plain deleting. That actually helped me find all outdated mods to update. Still maybe you just backed it all up first, I would. It's the game itself, you want a laugh? Some Sims stand in the rain, since it is technically water too, and they take a shower with it. Acting like they are in the shower 100%. But I try bathing an infant, it gets stuck for minutes. They need a patch now, and that may cause problems too. You can't win with any new update. It takes time for anything to work normally.
