For me it happened after the infants update and I found out that "Eco lifestyle" causes my Sims to freeze. If you have that pack you can disable it on the site that James Turner made!

I've noticed that "Laundry day" causes the same bug (I don't have laundryday in my game)

Just click on the "Eco lifestyle" icon , copy the caption and go to the EA app--- The Sims4 --- "manage" --- "View properties" and paste it there. 

Remember to save and your game should work perfectly 🙂

I hope The Sims team will fix the bug ASAP!!!!

    I don't have either of those packs and sadly still am having the same issue!
