Re: [FIXED] Sims won't drown

Im also having this issue, and it's getting pretty annoying.

Also none of the other mods I have installed can kill the sims with cheats either which is annoying

@SquidBot-111 Can you not kill the Sims by any means or just the drowning ?

There are some Sims that are immune to killing.

I do start to wonder if there's a bug here but it seems rather random.

Unless the Sims are mermaids, they should still drown.

I've checked saves before where certain means just didn't seem to work.

@dorifto96 Do you still have as save from before you were able to kill them with MCCC ?

I've had this issue too in a fresh save, game without mods/cc.  Troubleshooted it most of the day & found that there seems to be an issue with the uncomfy moodlet from low energy getting stuck (for lack of a better word). If you send the sim to nap, then wake them up immediately & make them go swimming, they'll successfully drown.

Said stuck uncomfy moodlet also prevented death by fire.

@dragancaor So you can repro it everytime or does it only get stuck sometimes ?

    EDIT:

Did a test with 4 Sims

    - 2 Elder

    - 1 Adult

    - 1 Child

    Children seem immune to drowning

The two elder died as expected when their energy made them pass out

The adult didn't drown until she was also starved but then she drowned.

Moved this to the bug forum.

  • @crinrict Yup, I still have the saves. Under normal cicumstances, they still cannot drown, but the mod allows me to force kill.

But the moodlet bug mentioned seems plausible.

The Sim that i uploaded is still out there as a test.

  • It's most definetly a bug, as they can't die specifically in pools

They basically just keep swimming in one place, and it says "passing out in:0" and it just says that and nothing happens

It happens with every character, on any save I have

@SquidBot-111 If you have a save you can send me that would be great. I haven't been able to duplicate at all and have killed quite a few poor Sims now.

@crinrict  i've saved over it sadly, & recover wont go back far enough, but i will try to get the moodlet to stick on another sim.... it's the timer not counting down (or rather, there being no time listed for passout) on the uncomfy tired moodlet. Because they're unable to do the passout, they're unable to drown. If i can get the moodlet to stick on a sim i'll upload a save with it.

@dragancaor I think I know what you mean. I had the timer go back to 3 hours once and also getting stuck for a while on my adult but they did drown in the end.

So just a save where they don't drown at all (but do die by other means) would be good,

As said in the beginng: There are Sims that are immune to dying.

Now that you mention it, I tried using my merman to drown the premade Sim Lilliana Kealoha at the empty lot at Mua Pel'am; I did everything I could to get her to drown; I used Siren's Call to lure her near to a deep diving buoy far out, then called an underwater threat on her to get her to finally drown, and I did these actions TWICE on a clear sunny day for almost 8hrs I think. She just wouldn't drown and I was wondering if I did anything wrong. I didn't think of it as a possible bug until I encountered this thread about trying to drown sims. I was not playing the premade sim.

@SquidBot-111This is exactly what’s happening to me right now. In the pool, exhausted with pass out in 0 minutes, no signs of drowning for hours. :/

I don’t have island living installed.

Need an exterminator a.s.a.p to get rid of this bug. 🙂

@Simsloadinguk Sounds like a different issue then.

best if you post in tech so someone can help you troubleshoot that.
