Yes, the only thing she can't interact is with the mailbox....it's weird. It was fine when I played yesterday before today's updates went through....You see my sim is a writer, and she gets most of her money through royalties. I have two recent books she's written in her inventory, but she can't click send to publisher (or even self-publish though she's level 10 writing skill).
Hi I found the cause for this. This happened in my game specifically. If there is a spell caster and they learn a spell. It prevents the mailbox from giving any options. Its weird
in a existing file if thew spellcaster already has spells the mailbox would already be broken
- @SongSoprana I never used spell casters and my mail box has limited options also. I did read a new game fixes the problem. I'm still able to pay bills so i'm just gonna wait for a fix.
For me. I started a new game with a normal sim. Made her a spellcaster and when she learned a spell, it limits my game option. If this is happening without spellcasters, there must be more than what causes the issue.
- @SenatorPadme2 I have exactly the same problem. The other two household members can access all features of the mailbox like usual... except the one Sim who pays the bills by licensing songs she's written.
- @crinrict I have the same problem with mailbox interaction, but only for 2 out of 4 sims from my household. 1 of those 2 also can't interact with other sims, but the othe sim still can. The other 2 don't have any bugs (so far).
I don't have any mods installed, only the game with most packs. - @SenatorPadme2 I am happy to hear I'm not the only one having this problem. it's so annoying.
I just tested my game, with the city living pack deactived, and all my mailbox options options returned. The error with the singing skill and no pie menu, also disappeared. So the error is most certainly in the City Living pack.
This is interesting, as I do not own the City Living pack and have been experiencing the mailbox bug
There is a mailbox error in basegame too, regarding publishing books - is this the one you have?
I've had that one too, in the past, but got around it, simply by deleting the mailbox, and putting in a new one.
I also tried this hack, before I tested with City Living deactivated. Didnt do anything with City Living installed.
I've deleted the mailbox and put a new one in and tried to repair the game a few times too, nothings working. I only started having the issue after the new update
I also don't have CL and have this bug with the greyed out options.
The LE suggests it has something to do with musical crafting. The Sim that is affected indeed has written some songs whereas the other that can use the mailbox hasn't.
Well then, then I can expect getting the mailbox error again soon. God dammit. LOL.
OMG Im getting tired of supporting The Sims.
I am also experiencing this problem with a Sim in the Civil Designer career, with the Eco Innovator aspiration. She is unable to do anything besides "Get Mail"
ETA: She doesn't have any musical skills whatsoever. Was Level 5 in photography, changed it to lv 3 and it made no difference
by me only the cildren can interakt whit the Mail, all over Teen are not.
I wondered what was wrong with my game when some Sims of a household suddenly couldn't interact with the mailbox anymore.
Not every Sim is affected. Only 1 of 4.
So did we swiap the Holidays for 3 against a mailkbox for 3 bug?
I don't have the spell casters stuff pack and it's happening with some of my writers. I have most of the other expansion packs.
