Re: [FIXED] Wrong Creators name in the gallery

Does anyone know what this means? I spend quite some time building a park with the new romantic garden stuff, finally finished, uploaded it to the gallery a couple of days ago, but now it says 'Original by claytonmast'? What's that? I build it from scratch, 100% my idea and everything, what does this mean?

    Hi @Huismusch

it's a know issue if you build on lots that you have previously but a lot from the gallery on - even if you bulldozed the lot.

I merged your post. Please check out the workaround provided by @BryonyRae

Apologies if I am not adding to this conversation properly, but I've never posted here before. I have just run into this problem myself. I never expected a lot I worked from the (bulldozed) ground up to be credited to someone else. There isn't any way I'm sharing it to the gallery like this. The roof took me forever to complete (I'm not the grandest builder by far) and I have no intention of tackling it again. I'll just use this build in my game only and remember that there isn't much of a point in building to share when the bulldoze button isn't truly effective ☹️

Unfortunately I can't save every room and rebuild because it's a park, it doesn't have any rooms. Any way around that? Or am I just being stupid and am I not getting it

@Huismusch You can preserve outdoor areas as well, by drawing rooms around them.  It won't preserve any terrain paint, but it will preserve the objects you have placed.

I was not aware of this problem until a few weeks ago.  I deleted all the houses in my library not actually built by me and picked a lot.  Built a house on it, no i did't bulldoze the lot first ☹️.  Now it has someone else's  name on it and mine.  I saved it to the library, downloaded a maxis built house bulldozed that house and copied the one I saved to my library, still says the same thing.  Do i have to build this house all over on a freed lot to get the only credit for it?

@MaryKup If you did not bulldoze the lot before beginning to build, then the game is functioning as designed.  It is supposed to retain original by credits on a build unless the build is bulldozed; this is the trigger to remove the original by.  The bug we are reporting and dealing with here is when the lot has been bulldozed but an original by still shows up on it.  And yes, sometimes the original by shows up in one place and not another.

I'm having this issue. I uploaded a park I built to the gallery & I bulldozed prior to building on a lot just to be safe. I also don't think I ever had anything else on this lot to begin with - maybe there was one saved in my library but not placed on the lot in game. I can't find it though so I don't think so.

I even had changed a residential lot to a community one. It shows up as someone else. I don't know why it's showing up as this person not me because I never had something there by them to begin with?

I tried the workaround but it didn't work. I might have misunderstood it though.

Basically, shows up as someone else but I bulldozed the lot & so I don't know how else to fix?

This did work for me. But heads up to everyone that when you make an outdoor venue, such as a park, a room you lose the terrain paint as mentioned but also trees, fences, 'outdoor only' items like a jungle gym, so it does take a little bit of editing and redoing it but much better than starting over 100%!

Now that there is a new patch when I put it on a new lot (bulldozed to be safe) it did work.
