I will try to recreate it when I have some time.

In the meantime here are the mods I was using before, maybe it will be useful: Remove Eco Lifestyle Sunray due to Green Footprint (it's really hard to play without it), Island Event Notifications Enabled, More Columns in CAS. Nothing that is doing huge changes in the game and definitely nothing connected with the relationships, etc.

I was able to quickly check it on new save, vanilla game. Somehow it's even worse!

I created random teens, they met, have friendship and romance bars full and were in a relationship. Then I aged up the guy.

As young adult he had something not crazy alarming: asking how is the teen's day. However, text in the bracket means 'Romantic partnership'...

He's young adult.

He has option: 'Admit your dreams about the object of your affection' and she's a teen. There is also option 'Affection' (face with hearts), there's only giving presents option inside (but not sure if even that should be there).

And now it's going crazy again. Suddenly he has a Want to speak with the object of his affection. I had no idea who it is as it doesn't give a name (BTW, it's kinda weird that it translates to: 'Click on the object of affection named Bartosz', Bartosz being active Sim name - shouldn't it be more like 'Click on the object of affection named [put here the name of the crush]'?).

It turned out it's a teen guy he met in a high school and spoke with him once. As in the bubble, this is 'a bit terrifying'...

He's definitely a teen.

Young adult has again option: 'Admit your dreams about the object of your affection'.

And here we go again, he has a Want to go with a teenager on a date.

Active sim is a Young Adult, and the want is aimed at a teenager.

I can replicate this issue. You need 2 teen sims to be in love and have 1 age up before the other then cycle through their wants.

I see this as a bug mostly because the want cannot be achieved, and not because of the age difference (in this instance) because this bug only occurs when two teenagers fall in love while they are teens and one ages up first, where all romantic interactions become disabled. 

So, the want itself isn't bugged, it's just that there is no way to achieve it since there are no romance options available between Young Adults and Teens when one ages up first (they are still considered to be girlfriends in the sim panel).

I guess removing the want in this one instance would be the solution, however it's a complicated situation since the two sims earned the romantic levels (which still stay when 1 age up first) while they were teens and the game forces you to wait until the second sim ages up (which makes sense).
