Re: [NEEDS INPUT] Good friends "admit" they're mermaids even when they're not

@liyanaido Was she ever a mermaid ? Did you create that Sim from scratch or is it an NPC ?

  • @crinrict she was never a mermaid and I created her.

What the heck... So I guess her saying yes to some people because of the merfolk woke trait triggered some mermaid animations on her? Wish this was fixed in the patch lol.

@liyanaido Would you be willing to share your save with me ?

If so, please upload to dropbox, onedrive or google drive and PM me the link.

@kusurusu do you also see this in your game ?

@crinrictIt's a bit complicated here. I only have access to all the DLC xml data because they were patched in (Moschino has to wait). When it comes to actual playing there's PC base game or XB1 with all packs. Should I post a video then?

@kusurusu No, i just think this issue should be more common the way you describe what causes it.

Do you see it on your XB1 ? I mean if you have non-mermaids saying they're mermaids.

@crinrictThe reason it doesn't always work is because of another outcome: "if target no mermaid -> fail", and with multiple valid outcomes one is picked at random.

Overall there are three potential outcomes
    1) fail if no mermaid (target)
    2) fail if mermaid (target) and relationship<70
    3) success if a) mermaid (target) and rel 70+ or
    b) merfolk woke trait (target)
in our case both 1 and 3b apply

On XB1 my merfolk woken target (a vampire!) "admitted" being a mermaid after 5 tries.

btw, why is there a merfolk woke (target) check in the first place? No other file has similar code snippet

  • @crinrict sorry I didn't see this earlier. I can share my save file tonight. @kusurusu my sims live on a beach front lot with most of their house over the water. I've noticed my sim that's having the issues also has been choosing to swim around the entire back of the house to get inside rather than walking through the front door like the other sims. Could this also be caused by the merfolk woke trait? She also flips when she gets in the water like a mermaid so I wonder...

@liyanaido I don't think so, the merfolk woke trait is used by some social interactions and the conservationist career (unlocking one of its assignments).only. It doesn't influence any routing/locomotion (my main sim - who has the same trait - does not swim like a mermaid). Have you already checked for hidden traits using a mod?
