Re: [NEEDS SAVES] [FR] Landlord still owns property/Tenants present after death

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.103.315.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Bug is with For Rent Expansion pack. The rest I have installed: Tiny living, spa day, seasons, romantic garden stuff, realm of magic, parenthood, my first pet stuff, moschino stuff , luxury party stuff, laundry day stuff, kids room stuff, jungle adventure, island living, horse ranch, growing together, get to work, get famous, dream home decorator & discovery university.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not 100% sure, but I'm guessing some of my tenants died and now can't be evicted/doesn't say they moved out etc.
What happens when the bug occurs? Whenever I'm playing with the household that owns the residental rental, or from the manage worlds view, it shows my units being occupied with nobody there, i.e. no option to evict them or bulldoze the lot (which is what I'm trying to do)
What do you expect to see? Actual families living in the seperate units, or the ability to evict non existant sims and bulldoze the lot.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Hoping someone can come up with a suggestion of how to fix this annoying bug ☹️

So far I've tried: Repairing game from EA app, un+reinstalling the for rent pack, uninstalling mods, selling the residental rental unit, moving new sims into each unit from manage worlds then evicting them.

Obviously it works fine in a new save file where I haven't used that lot but I'd rather not have to start over if possible.

  • This has happened to me several times now and I finally found a workaround. After the tenant died, I went to Manage Worlds and created a brand new sim to move into the unit (I did have to use the free real estate cheat because it shows up like they're buying the apartment and the unit was more than the starting $20k a new sim gets). When I went back in as my actual sim, it showed the new sim as a renter just like the others. I literally just did this so I don't know if there are any problems doing it this way but it worked and the rent price is the same as it was before the old tenant died. Hope this helps!
