I think that finally got it! Thanks so much Crinrict- you're a star!!
Thank you very much, Crin. Seems like this resolved the moodlet issues for now. I had Confident on my Sim when she finally had the Fear appear just to be extra sure.
@crinrict wrote:@ThisMicrophoneThe potions seems to be still bugged. It just removes the trait but nothing else.
Try if the following steps work for you.
1. Re-add the trait with the cheat; traits.equip_trait trait_Fear_Dark
2. Wait until you get the fear resolve want.
3. Buy a confidence potion
4. Go outside in the dark and drink it.
5. The fear should resolve for good.- crinrict2 years agoHero+@lapras751 Glad to hear it's helping you too.

I tried this several times and the moodlet still will not stay gone. It really is ruining the game. I even went so far as to save my family and home after the moodlet went away and started a new save file and she was still randomly getting it at all times and acting terrified. I am starting over with a new sim
@moonstruck22 I'm not sure if I can post a link here but if you're open to mods, there's one on curseforge that fixes it. Just search Get No Fears by TearsofTyr and there's a module that only removes the fear of dark buff.

This worked for me, thanks!
It is now December 13th of 2024 and I'm struggling with his issue, I've tried almost everything except for using the cheats menu. I don't want to use the cheats menu as it disables achievements and i really like the family of Sims I have and really don't want to restart, to clarify what my issue is; my sim became afraid of dark when she was a child and I assumed that it was a clever reference to little kids being afraid but she's now a teen almost young adult and it's still there, awhile never actually having the fear of dark. Plz help it's really annoying.
