- rebeccah1013 years agoSeasoned Vanguard@crinrict Yes, I’ve just been back through and checked and there’s actually a lot more deaths than originally thought and they are through neighbourhood stories.

If I remember correctly the deaths through Neighborhood Stories get triggered when your population reaches a certain threshold (if there are less Sims in your save there probably won't be any). So it might be possible that you just reached this threshold and experience more deaths than usual because of this.
- rebeccah1013 years agoSeasoned Vanguard@flauschtrud I think the count is around 31/80. I have turned off random deaths in neighbourhood stories and it’s stopped now

I assume that this is the count of the played Sims right? The unplayed Sims would also count for the total.
But it's good that it's stopped now that you deactivated Neighborhood Stories. The game will still cull Sims under the hood for performance reasons but it won't touch your played Sims this way.
