To clarify, I didn't download the lot from the gallery. I added the wedding items I wanted to the park and saved it to my library. I bulldoze and replace Magnolia Blossom Park with the one I saved in each save I start..
Sorry, I should have mentioned that I tried selling and rebuying the table when I noticed what was happening with it and it doesn't help. I have tried with existing saves and new games. Unlike prior to June patches and installation of Dine Out, I now always get the route failure if cake or plate is on top tier when I try to send sim to it to order food.
Edited to add: I just played and had a different sim family use the banquet table on their home lot. Had the sim bake a cake, no birthday candles or wedding topper, and place it on top tier of the table. I then directed her to serve food and she was able to do so successfully.
I then put the cake in her inventory and sent her to the park. She was able to serve food on that same table with the plain cake on the top tier. Consequently, it appears that the table route failure and inability to serve food with the cake on the top tier is occurring during a wedding event. I don't know if it would hold true for a birthday party as well since I haven't tried a birthday at the park with the table. I don't have any sims close to a birthday yet, the save is too new. I'm not sure if the route failure will occur during other events, or is maybe related to a topper of some sort put on the cake. I'll continue experimenting.
- dolldrms110 years agoSeasoned AceBecause it has been more than a week since I posted and already edited the above post once, I thought it would be okay to not just edit again.I finally had a sim ready to age up and held the birthday party at the park. As with the wedding cake, food can't be served if the birthday cake or empty plate is on the top tier. All the sim will do is throw the route failure bubble.A regular cake works fine, so it does appear the inability now to serve food with a cake on the top tier happens when a cake has had either a wedding topper or birthday candles added to it. It used to be possible because I served food at weddings many times. I think it was one of the June patches that changed this but don't know which one.

Haven't had a chance to test this. No birthdays/weddings in my game so far
Anyways, I trust you, so I'll add
- dolldrms19 years agoSeasoned AceOoops, missed your edit. Thanks for adding. I wasn't concerned you hadn't tested yet. There was the more important issue of immortal sims at that time, so your time was better spent on that problem, imho.Update on banquet table(s). I made plural because I realized there was a second table in the LP stuff pack, Banquetia Plateau. I tried with this table as well and had the same results as with the Fancy Feast table.I just held another wedding and experimented with using the serve food option before putting the wedding cake on the table's top tier. I was using the Banquetia Plateau table for this wedding. I was able to place the cake, add the wedding topper after using serve food and the sim was able to cut the cake okay, no route failure. Just works in reverse as to how I used to serve food after cutting the cake at weddings. At least it's doable. The one thing I did notice, though, is that the banquet tables just don't seem to work correctly, at least in a wedding event at the park. I guess sims just magically get the food from the banquet table during the event because the counter for the wedding task of "eat food by 4 sims" increased and completed that task but no sim other than my controlled sim actually went to the table and got food. Most odd to watch that counter increase while looking at a table with no sims near it. Somehow I doubt this was intended, lol.
