Make sure to click me too on the first post. @Born4Randomness The only workaround at the moment is to clean the coop, put down plenty of food, put the egg(s) in to incubate and then remove all access to it until the eggs are ready to hatch. If you have a fence, lock the gate for all sims. If you don’t have a fence, add one. The eggs can still hatch after spoiling as long as your sims are unable to access them to throw them out. The rest of your chickens may be mad about the dirty coop by then, depending on how many you have, but at least you’ll have chicks.
