Re: [OPEN] [DU] Society tasks not completing

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? Nederlands
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.104.58.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Tiny Living, StrangerVille, Snowy Escape, Seasons, Romantic Garden Stuff, Realm of Magic, Parenthood, Outdoor Retreat, Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack, My first pet stuff, Island Living, Holiday celebration pack, Get to Work, Fitness stuff, Eco lifestyle, Discover University, Cottage Living, City Living, Cats and Dogs.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Join the Brainiac Society (in university) and try to complete the "study for 2 hours" task.
What happens when the bug occurs? Any time I want to complete the "study for 2 hours" task, it won't complete. Ever. No matter how long my sim studies and no matter which medium is used to study.
What do you expect to see? Complete the study for 2 hours task when my sim has studied for 2 hours using any of the means as suggested by the task.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Any time I have a sim go to university and join the Brainiacs society, it is impossible to complete the "study for 2 hours" task. It doesn't complete, ever. Not with a different sim. Not with a different medium to study with (the task suggests three mediums to study with, none of them work). Not when studying over 6 hours straight. Not with a specific mood. It's driving me nuts and is starting to get annoying as it means I can't fast-track a sim through university because the Brainiac thing refuses to complete making progress insanely slow.

@Karen_8354  Study For 2 Hours worked for me, using a computer. I didn't try the other 2 methods.

It's actually pretty easy to reach level 2 or even level 3 of the Brainiacs organization without doing any of the side tasks. Just go to one of their events, (join the organization), and then spam the Brainiacs interactions with any member of the organization. Those interactions include Discuss Project Ideas and Discuss Upcoming Test. They can both be found under Friendly/Interests. This is a very quick method to build up your standing in the organization and it's also very effective for making friends. Just be careful not to use the same interaction twice in a row, because that could make the conversation boring. (This method also works with other organizations.)

@Karen_8354 Is this the only task you have issues with ? I merged your thread with the main society task thread as the study for two hours has been mentioned here several times but it would still be good to know if you also have issues with other tasks.
  • @Sketch793 Thanks! With doing multiple societies plus either sports activity it is often difficult to show up at every event and I usually just want to rush through university in three weeks. The bonus of 'study for 2 hours' would help a lot, but I guess since it won't work it means better planning to join all brainiac events.
  • @crinrict Nope, every single other task completes without issues. The 'go to classes with a concentrated mood' is sometimes a bit hit and miss but it works.

Saving time is precisely the reason that I attend all the events that I can, for as long as I can. I always join the Brainiacs when I'm attending Foxbury Institute because they give extra credit to Seasoned Members for all majors for attending their events and that makes it very easy to get perfect grades. I can usually reach Seasoned Member in less than one session by spamming the organizationial interactions. After that, I use the remaining meetings to do homework, prepare presentations, and write term papers. These are tasks that I would be doing anyway, so the meetings aren't wasting my time.

I also join the Bot Savants when I am studying Computer Science, Physics, or Villainy at Foxbury Institute to get even more extra credit. Similarly, I join the Art Society when I'm studying Art History or Fine Art at the University of Britechester and I join the Debate Guild when I'm studying Communications, History, Language, Psychology, or Economics at UBrite. I don't usually bother joining the Spirit organizations or the Secret Society, because they are not as helpful.

That only leaves Culinary Arts and Drama as subjects that I have to study without getting extra credit. My solution is to start those two majors at Foxbury, so they can benefit from the Brainiacs, and then switch to UBrite for the final term so I can get the Distingushed Degree.

As for the Sports and eSports teams, there's really no reason to join them unless you plan to join the Pro Athlete branch of the Athlete career or the eSports Gamer branch of the Tech Guru career. They do have nice scholarships, but the teams count as careers and they don't pay you anything except the scholarship. You can probably earn just as much or more, in less time, from money-making skills like Painting or Gardening, or a Freelance career where you can set your own schedule.

Feel free to use as much or as little of my advice as you choose. I don't let other people tell me how to play so I don't really expect anyone to listen when I telll other people how to play.
