Re: [OPEN] Duplicate (glitched) items after flea market purchase

The first time I bought something at the flea market I was pretty pumped because one of the vendors had a table with the Trophies of which I was able to purchase the three that have been eluding me since I started playing in January. When I got home I went to put them on a shelf and two of them vanished soon as they were placed. They were originally in the Sim's inventory who purchased them. However, when I went to house inventory, there were the missing ones and the one that didn't vanish although it was on the shelf. I placed the two missing ones on the shelf and they stayed. The third one says something about being unable to find a script? And I can't do anything with it in my inventory.

Problem two was at the current visit to the flea market. A vendor had a table of toys. They had a cool looking dragon figure. I thought it would be neat to have on a shelf so I bought it. Getting home I went to place it on a shelf and it vanished soon as I did so. Instead of hitting the back button (as the item was in house inventory) I accidentally clicked to get out of build mode and the dragon was truly gone. I didn't see it anywhere on the ground or floor or nearby area. I also checked both Sims' inventories and house inventory again, but the dragon is no more. It's upsetting because apparently this is a special item as I can't seem to locate it anywhere in build mode so I can purchase it again.

The first issue I can deal with having the glitchy item in inventory, but the dragon makes me sad. Is the dragon really around, though, and I just can't see it? Or did it truly vanish into oblivion? I used the slot previous to this one in hopes to go back to the flea market and get the dragon again, but the game had other ideas and the vendor now had snowglobes.  Now that I am trying the snowglobes I see they have the same fate as the trophies, they vanish when I try and place them.  How disappointing.  I hope this issue can get resolved soon ☹️

Badcowboy1969, don't despair! I think I know what dragon you are referring to 🙂 ... I bet it is the one you make on the Wood Carving Table.  So, buy that in the Skills section of BuyMode and then have one of your Sims gain Handiness by working on it crafting different items, and soon you will be able to make the Dragon statue to your heart's content!  😉

@PugLove888 Nope it's not that one at all.  It was a small green figure of a winged dragon standing on his hind legs.  Sort of about the size of toy triceratops in the children's toys section.  My boy already has that lovely wood carving on a shelf in the living room, it was the first thing he ever made with the woodworking table...that's why I thought this little action figure would be neat ☹️   Thanks for the suggestion, though.

@crinrict Just a random thought. If the object bought at Flea Market is something hidden in Buy Mode could that maybe contribute to it not showing up? In my case I had issue with MySim dolls which can be collected but are not available in buy mode without a cheat.

So sorry BadCowboy1969! 😳  I have see most of the wood carvings at the flea market, so I thought for sure it was the wooden dragon, which is cool, but not the correct one! ☹️

EuphorialQueen, I bet you found BadCowboy's missing dragon! 😃  I think this particular dragon comes with the dollhouse that looks like a Castle: I had a similar problem when my Kleptomaniac Sim Child brought home a mysterious doll from school that she had stolen.  I was called the Victorian Lady Doll with Hat, and I couldn't find it anywhere, but someone figured out it was tied with the Victorian Doll house and that is why it couldn't be found in BuyMode or be played with by itself.  And I bet you are right in that these items that normally can only be found with the hidden BuyMode Menu (or normally with the corresponding dollhouse, or through collecting them outside) might have a lot to do with some of the items being hard to place when they are purchased at the flea market. :eahigh_file: I had a lot of problems with the MySims dolls that I got at the flea market as well! 🤒

@PugLove888 No worries thank you so much for the help at least 🙂   I haven't been attending flea markets too long and so far only saw Frogs, toys, trophies, and snowglobes offered as small items.  The lamps I did buy off a table work, but the small things are wonky for some reason.
