My final follow up on this about plants dying for no reason, and many more complaints about plants-DIe.
I have uninstalled the game and mods down to uninstalling origins, removing all mods, and all folders. I have reinstalled the entire set up from Origins to complete sims 4 set. I finally Uninstalled the game, Mods, Origins, folders, etc. Removed all saved games including 2 years of an ongoing legacy of sims families. Yes, I lost 18 generations of my sim's families due to them becoming unable to play from loss of content, etc. To once again get my Plants to grow and thrive as they used to. I have spent two weeks testing and trying things. I installed the sims 4 entirely with no mods, failed, I installed Each pack separately, in order and failed - I installed everything and found issues began at seasons. I uninstalled again and reinstalled skipping seasons. I completely installed everything, left out seasons and had no problems for 16 hours of real time game play. I then installed seasons and it all broke down again. I uninstalled again, installed everything except seasons, No problems for 2 days. I installed all my mods and custom content. I just played for 16 hours real time with no problems. (I had some issues with a Custom Content yellow pepper dries out real fast, and Ice Munmun harvestable custom content so I left those out. We now have lettuce and pumpkins so small trade off. Sorry "Ice Munmun")
Finally, I have reinstalled EVERYTHING including over 2500 Mods and Custom Content by leaving out the Seasons Expansion Pack - entirely. Everything else is installed right down to all of my mods and custom content. (at last count 2765 Mods and custom content, including recolors, hair, makeup, body mods, UI cheats, Game Mods, etc. MCCC, Tmex, WW, Deaderpool....) I have now played for 3 SIMS game YEARS with zero plants dying for any reason other than I let it die. Too bad, I liked seasons and having a sim getting lit up by a few lightning strikes and then shooting lightning bolts, best game effects in the entire sims4 game series! And the sound effects were cool as well! I will also miss a lot of the build/buy things as well. I had a business of a flower shop and custom flower arrangements that I can't play anymore. Had a family of sims that had made millions with growing flowers and harvestable to sell, but without seasons I will have to find an alternative. I have had seasons playing since it came out, I grew to enjoy seasons, strange that it all of a sudden becomes an issue?
So, if you want to play with plants, leave out seasons. Star Wars works, cottage living works, snowy escape works, Seasons will break the plants, including random "wild Plants" wither and begin to disappear. Wild lemon trees wilt, cherry trees disappear, apple trees, etc. after a while, bluebells were all that was left, and some garlic and mushrooms. But if all you want to eat is Mushroom pumpkin garlic goulash and bluebells wrapped in lettuce....
