Re: [OPEN] Townies in worlds spawn with Asian names

This is by game design, as EA intended, like it or not it's not a bug.

I'm sure this is by design, but it's an issue of balance. I'm fine with having these Asian names sprinkled in occasionally, but literally 90% of my generated townies all share the same (small) pool of Japanese, Indian, etc. names. It's very immersion-breaking, especially when the name doesn't match the face. Yes I can overlap this by downloading pre-made townies, but it gets very exhausting when you're a generational player.

So obviously this is not the worst bug in the game right now, but WHY can’t they fix this?! Seriously, this has been an issue for years and just needs some tuning. In my game about 80% of townies that spawn have Japanese names, and I don’t visit Mt Komorebi very often. I actually notice it most in the university students that are generated and the paparazzi. I just want some diversity! Why are there no Chinese or Korean names? More European names? I do get some Indian, Arabic and Hispanic sims, but I’m so sick of deleting the 1000th sim with the same Japanese name when I’m not even playing in Mt. Komorebi.

I started a new, unmodded, save last week and all the new non-pack townies being created in my game so far have Japanese style names. I own all EPs, SPs and GPs except werewolves.  I know there is a mod to fix the issue, I used it in the past and it worked beautifully, but I'm playing without mods at the moment and this issue/bug is so noticeable without the mod.  I can share the save file to EA if that would help?

I would love a better mix of names to appear organically my game, especially since we have US, European, South East Asian and South American worlds, and as over 200 folks have 'me too'd this issue as well, I figured another comment on the bug couldn't hurt in getting this brought to the bug team's attention and that it'll be added to a future laundry list.

I obtained Snowy Escape as my most recent add in the sale not that long ago, and I concur with this. I speak Japanese, and have no issue with Japanese named characters in my world. I love the neighbourhood, the new accessories, and all of the other things it has added. But now the same names are proliferating into all neighbourhoods and I'd like a bit more balance.

Also, this is a minor gripe, and probably specific to me (lol), but every time I see the given name Ryo instead of Ryou it makes me want to smash my keyboard.

I don't use mods and don't really want to start doing so.
