@DeanXeL I did this first with no mods or cc in my game to try and it worked! Then I did it again but this time with all my mods & cc and it still worked! Only thing is that they of course lost all their inventory, relationships + family tree which is sad… But it’s better than losing them entirely for sure :’)

Side note: this actually also solved a completely different issue I’ve had that I posted about on here when Cottage Living had recently come out. I couldn’t travel to the Isle of Vorpe lot (it gave an error code every time and displayed the Incomplete sign after trying to visit). I haven’t been able to use that lot since so that was a very welcomed surprise haha 😅

Is there anything else I should do or try to fix the OG save or do you think this is the only solution to fix the issue? Thank you for all the help btw ☺️

    @preciousbun You could (still with mods and cc out) go back to your original save, evict the family, move them into another lot and check if that works now (you never know!) If it doesn't, I'd continue with the new 'fixed' save you have now. You can cheat the money, get the items from debug/live edit (mostly) and yeah... Sorry about the relationships... ☹️

    You will still need to find which mods are broken though, cause I'm betting the issue will return if you replace the mods/cc again. If you're afraid of corrupting the save, try to find the broken ones using a backup save you intend to remove 😉

    I need to go to bed now, but if you still have any issues, I'll be here again on the morning or someone else might be around to help you in the meantime!

    @DeanXeL So I tried evicting the original family out and then move into a new lot, but the same error still occurred.

    So now what I’m wondering is how do I go about finding the mod/cc that caused this? Since I couldn’t figure out by removing them I don’t know how?

    Could it be that I played the game before having realised there was an update to MC Command Center? I saw they’d released one for November 22 but I didn’t know until after this happened and I went through my mods (thought the latest patch was too small to cause an issue). Is there some precautions I should follow for every update of the game like removing my mods before? :0

    @preciousbun In that case, I'd just continue with the save you have with the 'recovered family' or you can check earlier save version of your original one to see if there's still one where the family is in good shape.

    It's possible the save just got corrupted, but now the mods are fine. To check whether your mods are (still) causing this issue, copy the save you're going to continue with (use save as to a new slot). Then load back all your mods in the mod folder, boot up the game and play that save for a while. Use the family to visit some lots, do some stuff, go to manage worlds and back a few time, move them and so on. See if at any point the error triggers again.

    If it doesn't, I'd just continue with the save and leave it at that. You can always keep a backup save in a different save slot or just hope the older save versions are sufficient 🙂

    @DeanXeL I was really done replying to you 😂 but I just have to say that I went and tried to use a save from like 20 minutes earlier and it WORKED! I still saved it onto a new save file so I could use the lot that didn’t work before, but now I have all their stuff and relationships and family tree! 😭 I’m still going to make a test save of it to make sure the problem doesn’t happen again :’)

    @preciousbun Sorry to interfere here but did you already delete your save game that's corrupted ? With 102 it could be a game bug that needs looking at by the devs. It's one of the error codes which can be either mods and cc or an actual problem with the game.

    I did read the entire conversation but I want to be absolutely sure I understand what's working and what not.

    1. You removed all your mods/CC and deleted the localthumbcache file but it still didn't work with your old save
    2. When you moved everything to your new save it worked with both mods/no mods ?

    Or did it suddenly start working on the old save when removing mods ?

    If it's 1 and you still have the save, would you mind sending it to me ? Instructions can be found in my signature.

    @crinrictHi yes it didn’t work even when I’d removed all mods & cc and delete the localthumbnailcache, but then today I decided to try and play the OG save but use an earlier version of the save and it worked with my mods then! I still saved it to a new save file after that to get my bugged lot to work 🙂

    I just moved the corrupt save version onto my desk so I technically still have the file if you still want me to send it?

    - go to https://drive.google.com/
    - log in using your google account
    - click on the big plus to upload a new file
    - right click the file and select share
    - change the access rights on the bottom of the pop-up from limited to everyone with the link
    - copy the link, press the ready button and send it to them

    @preciousbun Seems the issue is with Kenji. Not exactly sure what's going on. I'll pass on your save to a CM so EA can look into it. It's def reproducible without mods.

    EDIT: So it seems it's an issue with the career. If you quit the career (you would need MCCC to do that), the lot loads again. 

    Questions: Did you have a custom holiday that gave them time off shorty before the error occurred ? Did you ever mess around with the time settings through MCCC (make it go faster or slower) ?

    @crinrict Sorry for the late reply! But hmm okay that actually makes some sense now when I think about it… Some time ago I had a similar issue with another sim who lived in Mt.Komorebi and worked in the Salary career that came with the pack. That sim got corrupted so I had to delete him, couldn’t just kill him off, and then I could play the family again.

    Didn’t think about that until now but it does seem similar. I do have custom holidays and there might have been one shortly before I don’t remember exactly now. I haven’t messed with time by making it skip ahead or anything with MC for a very long time. Only did it once over a year ago and then never again so it shouldn’t be a problem? I’ve changed the age span of teenagers to 14 days, but it shouldn’t cause such problems? :0

    Now how do I quit his career through MC? I can’t just make him quit it normally? I’m quite convinced now that it’s the career that’s causing problems somehow since this is my second sim in that career that has been affected in this way

    @preciousbun Seems there's also a cheat

    careers.remove_career <career> <simID>

    Instructions for MCCC

    in the cheats bar, try putting mccc kenji tanaka and then following the paths to do
    MCCC > MC Cheats > Cheat Sim Info > Career Cheats > Reset Career Branch
    and
    MCCC > MC Cheats > Cheat Sim Info > Career Cheats > Quit Job

    You can also try loading another household and then force invite the Sim over with MCCC and then find the interaction by clicking on the Sim.

    @crinrict I’ve added the info to my first post! And I’ll make sure to follow your instructions to get him out of the career next time I play. Hope whatever problem the career has can be fixed, thank you for all the help! 🙂
