@jrummage1 There are several bug reports for white cake still and it depends on the circumstances.

    With my save, the foodie NAP is not active, they're not part of a food cooking group and sometimes they will leave the cake in the oven, or one sim will stop what they are doing and leave the unfinished cake on the counter and their spouse will eventually get more ingredients to start making another cake. Sometimes they will finish it, sometimes they will get distracted and leave it unfinished, or leave unattended in the oven. 

    I have all the packs including all of the kits installed. I always have the latest patch installed including this one. I have updated and removed my mods and it still occurs.
