Re: 'Throw-Up' Interaction Shows Before Pregnancy Test Taken

I've always believed this was By Design as per the attached guide. A Sim doesn't suppress their pregnancy symptoms until a test is taken as that wouldn't make sense, just as a human could have symptoms before they take a test and in fact that's why they take a test in some cases. It can vary by Sim, I just watch for the signs/moodlets.

A pregnant Sim is still a pregnant Sim even without a test to confirm.

I rarely use the tests, I just wait and see.

@simsplayer818 I think the same and I like that there are small indications to hint to the pregnancy. If you pay attention to their thought bubbles they might even think about baby related stuff already before taking a test.

Yeah after watching this video and comparing how the interaction is in my game, it’s clear it is an issue and should be investigated.

    @simsplayer818

the attatched guide refers to moodlets. This is not a moodlet?? It is a self direction interaction that is meant to be only available after the test has been taken, as indicated in the video working that way last year 🙂

  • @rory_nuttI guess we agree to disagree but a pregnant Sim is still pregnant even without a test. The test adds something to the game certainly. But symptoms kick in at various times for my Sims.
While my Sims are pregnant they can throw up during their pregnancy at any time but sometimes it's the first indication when they are compelled to do it. I personally think it's realistic that way but we all differ.

I'm on Xbox Series X with all content installed.

Edit: it's not really just an opinion but how it's always worked in my game and is currently working. Either way I'm sure we'll get a response and if it's changed recently in other players games it could be helpful to state the platform/content.

It's unchanged for me as I've noted.

Be it realistic or not, it is not by design and has not worked like this before. Rory is correct and has evidenced how the interaction is meant to be working.

@simsplayer818If it was autonomous, fine but its not, it is a player guided interaction; previously it COULD happen however not manualy until a test is taken, it worked like that previously and should continue to work like that, like it has done for years.

Rather than tagging me personally (I do not work for EA).

If this interaction has recently changed in anyone's game it may be helpful to complete a bug template (for anyone who hasn't done so already) listing platforms and owned content and noting when it changed, or to list that info when replying.

For me I think it varies depending on the time the test is taken so the Sim is already having symptoms. On Xbox I can't share saves and as it's happened for quite some time I assumed it was normal.

Edit: After some investigating, by tracking down an unrelated post I made about a Sim's pregnancy this May (surprise baby photo), I can at least confirm it's not a change from the most recent patches for me. I didn't think to track/report it as it didn't occur to me it could be a bug. I'm sure I did see it before then too but that's harder to pinpoint dates. At that point I had all content released up to that date.

I remember you never used to be able to throw up before pregenancy, as the video has quite clearly shown, I dont think it gets any clearer then that? Can you provide proof it never changed on Xbox?

I don't know when exactly this change occurred, but the most recent video (linked above) I have found that talks about sims 4 pregnancy was made in September 2022 which shows that there is no throw up options available for a sim that is pregnant, until the test is taken. That is what is considered 'expected', as it has always been that way.

Regardless of opinions, a change has occurred, hence why im making this post.

I own all DLC. and play both on Mac and PC.

    Hello all,

If any of you are still encountering this on the latest game version (without mods), would you be willing to share your save file(s)?

If so, please send me a private message with a link to the file. Instructions can be found here: http://x.ea.com/74420

    Thanks!
