Re: Time freezing & Resetting

I have begun to experience a strange issue where my Sims will become stuck in an idle loop (despite actions being queued for them to perform.) Time continues to advance for a while and will roll backward after a while. Some specifics:

- During the stuck stage, you cannot change the speed of the simulation. You can click the buttons but the speed does not change.

-It always stays stuck for 3 or 4 Sim hours and then loops back (presumably) to when the issue started.

-Seems to coincide with a moodlet activation, gardening, and visitors showing up on the lot.

Is there a cache I can clear or something? This has only started happening recently on a save I've been playing for a long time.

Thank you!

Are you using any mods in your game ?

    If so, remove them.

No I don't have mods, cc or game mods. I already removed them before the new update and played without them. Because I know that they could be broken. so my mods folder is empty.

Before my sims were completely stuck. I had long breaks in their actions. but that went away after I restart my game. but now they are not taking a new action and standing there without doing anything then look around and breathing. (basic animation)

  • Same here! That is my exact problem. Honestly I am so disappointed, I was looking forward to Simming through my Uni break but looks like thats literally impossible..

Additionally, I have tried to update my game, and as according to here: http://simsvip.com/2015/12/04/the-sims-4-new-game-patch-december-4th-2015/

It won't update to 1.13.104.1220, just stays at 1.13.104.1210. I have done 3 fresh new installs, including one on a brand new computer

So as I was saying before, I tried moving them to a new lot, and for a while all seemed well. A while being about an hour. Then the issue popped up again. ☹️

(EDIT: I also realize that I have never specified that I have reinstalled sims three separate times, making sure I do the CC Cleaner, remove all my mods and saves, etc every time.)

The last number is not important and is different for Mac and PC. Not sure what the factors are on it but it could be a disc/download version thing or other factors.

If you're at 1.13.104 then you're all updated.

I have also had this issue where my Sim is stuck for a few hours but do nothing and have found if I hit the M (Travel button) and then chose not to travel the Sim will reset or continue with her actions 🙂

Except that my game is with some other very odd bugs related to it, such as when I put my Sim to do something and suddenly he changes his excitement, the action is canceled automatically and it seems that the one "reset" on it, but I do not do this, the game does on its own. I hope that EA arrange this as soon as possible. :/

  • I would do the travel thing, but it literally happens so much that I would click a few times, click M, and click back every 10 seconds.

Reloaded it yesterday, it didn't make 60 seconds without them staring off into the abyss.

So disappointed. Pretty much ready to stop wasting time on this game and just move on from sims forever. I've been playing since Sims 1 came out, but honestly after being left with nothing for months I just feel it isn't right for me to care so much anymore.

This issue began for me just last week.I've cleared all my caches. It's so bad we cant play at all. We'd have to pause every five seconds.

Having the same problem here ☹️

No mods, no cc everything updated the game still freezes after a few minutes playing, but the animation still goes forever.

Same here. Add a several second lag (while the game clock keeps running) when selecting a different sim. The freeze releases when another sim is selected.

I've also noticed it tends to happen when plants update. Unfortunately, my sims are commercial farmers. There are 67 plants and one of them is always doing something. Only on my third generation, $1.7 million in household funds and about half that in produce sitting in inventory so there's no way I'm ditching the lot.

I've seen the time clock of my Sims readjust after freezing, for example, while at speed 1 game, time moves normally and Sims also, if I put on speed 2 or 3 of the game, time passes and Sims freeze when I put on speed 1 again, my Sims thaw and the clock back a few minutes ago sims...
