Thank you for your reply. I moved a sim into a different penthouse (San Myshuno) and the front door option isn't there either. The welcome wagon came, and all of the visitors wandered straight in to the home. I take it this is just an annoying "feature" I hadn't noticed before/forgot about after years of playing. Meanwhile in my normal save back in Torres Amanecer, I tried locking to keep everyone but the household out, AND lock it so that pets stay in, but I take it locking conditions don't stack, so I still have the paparazzi wandering in and Sammy Garcia (un-beared) coming over to shower naked in the rain in my yard. I don't like letting my pets wander so it seems I have to put up with it. I've just set both my door and gate now to be locked for "everyone", and then "unlock for specific sim" for my 3 household humans, but I already know that's going to get tedious fast whenever I let in guests that I actually want and have to undo/redo.

Is there any way to make this a suggested QoL improvement? Improvements to the door locking system, and/or allow front doors in penthouses? Requiring non-household sims to be buzzed up in the lift? You can't just wander into a real penthouse...

This might get moved there but I'm leaving it for now as I really have no idea if it was always this way.
