Reaper's Rewards Caster Alley task not completing

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? I own all of the expansion and game packs, most of the stuff packs and a couple of kits.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? You'll find the bug in Week 3 of the Reaper's Rewards Event.
What happens when the bug occurs? I can't complete the "Go to Caster Alley" task. Ever since I had my sim travel to Caster Alley following the prompt for the first time, the task disappeared on arrival without being completed. I am therefore stuck and can't move on to the next task or reach Week 4 of the event.
What do you expect to see? I expect for the task to complete so I can move on to the next.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
I have tried everything I could think of and I have followed the advice of every simmer online who encountered the same issue and somehow managed to get the ball rolling again to no avail.
I've remove my mods, I sent a different sim from my household to Caster Alley (this time a non-occult sim), I made a couple of new saves in the hopes that the task would reappear (it didn't), sent the new sims to Caster Alley anyway and had them buy Angelfish but nothing happened. I even stopped playing sims for a week hoping the event would be patched, and I deleted the Sims 4 cache and the EA cache…
I would reinstall my game and all of its expansions if I were sure it would fix the issue but I'm afraid I would have to start the event all over again and it might still break in the same place.
The household I'm playing the event with has sims who mastered the Home-style and Gourmet cooking skills and have a high level in the Gardening and Fishing skills: they grow Death flowers and can fish Angelfish from their own pond. In other words, my household can make ambrosia and I've been waiting for the event to catch up with me, but now I am stuck at Week 3, unable to earn the XP to get the Batfish reward so I can move on to Week 4.
I would love for this problem to be fixed before the event ends so I can get the few rewards that are specific to it. Please help!
