Renaissance aspiration bugged since patch

I have been playing this aspiration with Mortimer Goth from a new game since the patch. I am aware of the prior requirements and also aware that they have been changed since the patch. But advancing in this aspiration and earnining credit for the career promotions is extremely glitchy. The mistake people are making is to abandon the career at level 3 if they haven't received credit for a promotion. My experience is that to earn credit for a level 3 career you have to earn the level 4 promotion for that career.

The only work-around I've found for this is to get the "connections" reward trait, and just keep switching jobs for each and every point in the aspiration... Of course that keeps demoting me in each job I switch to, but it's the only way of quickly getting the game to recognize that I've made it past level 3 in EVERY career. Really annoying, but not as bad as not even getting the reward for reaching a new career level. I was supposed to unlock a retro rocket at level 10 astronaut/smuggler, but NOOOO, the game decides not to give it to me, or even let me BUY one, as though I didn't even complete the pre-requisite goal.
