Roof Trims clip through walls

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? Español
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.69.57.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Seasons, Cats and Dogs, Discover university, Get Together, Eco Lifestyle, Island living, Snowy Escape, Strangerville, Junge Adventure, parenthood, Outdoor retreat, Laundry Day, Movie Hangout, Nifty Knitting, Tiny Living, Romantic Garden, Kids Room Suff, Toddler stuff, Perfect Patio, Spooky stuff, Moschino, Cool Kitchen
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Place a roof next to a room and apply the trim, especially the wide one, and the side attached to the wall will clip trhrough
What happens when the bug occurs? You can see the roof trim through the walls
What do you expect to see? The trim not showing
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

in some cases it's easier to hide or repurpose as a wall decoration, but other times it's just an annoying aesthetic bug

  • @paulapg89Yup, been fighting with this annoying bug pretty much since the game was released. For some reason whenever you use spandrels, fences or half-walls to divide a room the roof clips through the walls. My workaround is to place two identically-scaled roofs in the same place; one with the eaves removed and the default roof trim, and another with the desired eaves length and roof trim.

Unfortunately I have yet to find a solution for the penta/hexa/octagonal and circular roofs.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for this! I will definitely gonna try this!

  • @paulapg89 No worries! Report back if you have any issues. Worth noting - the workaround will only work if the eaves facing the wall on both roofs are retracted. Also, the second roof must have overhangs, otherwise it will inherit the default trim of the first roof.
