[S] Neighborhood houses without snow on the roof

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? Português
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.77.146.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? The Sims 4: Seasons
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Checking the world after a blizzard
What happens when the bug occurs? The roofs of the world's uninhabitable houses are completely free of accumulated snow after a blizzard
What do you expect to see? That the roofs of non-livable houses have accumulated snow after the blizzard
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This started after an update, but I don't remember which update it was.

In my game, every time there is a blizzard, the roofs of the houses that are not habitable are completely free of accumulated snow. Not all, depending on the texture that was used on the roof.

  • I can also confirm with 100% certainty that this bug still occurs in a modless, CC free save file.

From what I have been able to gather, the snow does not accumulate whatsoever on certain world decor buildings mainly in Willow Creek and Newcrest.

    (Foundry Cove, Willow Creek)

    (Crawdad Quarter, Willow Creek)

    (Llama Lagoon, Newcrest)

And as you can see from the following image, the problem also occurs - though in a smaller number - in Brindleton Bay as well. They even appear to be the same world objects as in Foundry Cove!

    (Cavalier Cove, Brindleton Bay)

I did check around other worlds that are meant to have snow accumulation (though I do not own ALL the packs that come with worlds) and it appears that outside these base game specific world decor objects, only Windenburg had a similar issue.

However, in Windenburg there was indeed snow accumulation occuring on the decor houses, but some clearly had more than others.

    (Olde Platz, Windenburg)

I am not sure if the Windenburg issue is an actual bug, or just an oversight, but the picture was taken in the middle of a blizzard, so it does seem weird for some of the decor buildings to not get the same full blanket of snow as the others.

Willow Creek and Newcrest are definitely bugged, though.

If you take a look at the official trailer for The Sims 4: Seasons, you can see the background decor buildings covered in snow, which confirms that it was not always like this.

(This short section in the trailer appears to be in the same neighborhood as in the first image.)

Oh, and I also forgot to mention that one of the decor buildings in Willow Creek (which also appears in Newcrest) acted in a weird way.

When my game camera got close to it, there was snow on the roof:

But when I took my camera farther away, the snow disappeared:

This did not occur in the other decor houses I showed above. Their snow was gone all the time.

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? ALL OF THEM (11/17/2024)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Simply check the decorative buildings in various worlds, especially those in Willow Creek during extended periods of snow, to confirm that they are no longer covered in snow—at most, they appear slightly whitewashed. When you move the camera and get closer to these decorative buildings, the roof may flicker between dense snow coverage and no snow coverage.
What happens when the bug occurs? Decorative buildings are not being fully covered by snow, and in many cases, not covered at all. Additionally, depending on camera movement, the roof starts flickering between snow-covered and snow-free states. This issue is occurring in multiple worlds, such as Willow Creek and Windenburg. I haven't tested every world to identify all the locations where this bug happens, as it would be too time-consuming.
What do you expect to see? The buildings should be fully covered in dense snow after being exposed to snowfall for an extended period, as they used to be. Additionally, the roofs should not flicker, alternating the snow state based on camera movement.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

The reported bug affects decorative buildings in The Sims 4 and involves the following issues:

    Lack of Proper Snow Coverage:

    • Decorative buildings, which are supposed to be fully covered in dense snow after extended exposure to snowfall during winter, are not being covered correctly. In many cases, they remain only slightly whitewashed or have no snow coverage at all.

    Roof Flickering Issue:

    • When moving the camera and zooming closer to these decorative buildings, their roofs flicker between states of dense snow coverage and no snow coverage. This inconsistency creates a distracting visual effect.

    Multiple Worlds Affected:

    • This issue has been observed in several worlds, including Willow Creek and Windenburg. However, a full test across all worlds has not been conducted due to the time it would require.
    • The issue occurs in both DX9 and DX11.

    Expected Behavior:

    • Decorative buildings should become densely covered with snow after prolonged exposure, as they did previously.
    • Roofs should maintain a consistent snow state and not flicker based on camera movements.
    • The buildings in all worlds affected by this issue should be fixed. Therefore, it is necessary to check all worlds to see how decorative buildings behave after being exposed to snow for an extended period.

    Additional Info

    • The bug testing was performed on a completely new The Sims 4 folder that I generated in Documents.

Apparently this is an old problem. I hope it doesn't take that long to be fixed.  ☹️
