[S] No scout badge progression for finding frogs in built ponds (Patch 1.96.365)

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.96.365.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Growing Together, High School Years, Cottage Living, Cats and Dogs, Seasons, City Living, Get to Work, Get Famous, Island Living, Discover University, Get Together, Snowy Escape, Eco Lifestyle, Vampires, Realm of Magic, My Wedding Stories, Dream Home Decorator, Parenthood, Dine Out, Outdoor Retreat, Jungle Adventure, Tiny Living, Laundry Day, Vintage Glamour Stuff, Toddler Stuff, Spooky Stuff, Desert Luxe Kit, Country Kitchen Kit, Industrial Loft Kit.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Ask a child sim in the scout career to look for frogs in a built pond or Sulani Waterfall
What happens when the bug occurs? Child sim finds frogs in a built pond but it doesn't count towards 'Outdoor Adventurer' Scout badge - in Sulani Waterfall, they don't have an option at all to look for frogs, only adults have this interaction
What do you expect to see? It counting towards the badge progression in built ponds as well as debug ponds - as well as an option with the Sulani Waterfalls
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I saw this used to be an issue but it was closed so I've opened a new thread - I hope this is okay.

Tested on a brand new vanilla save.
The pond in question was in Henford on Bagley however I assume this is going to be a all ponds issue. I also can't find any frog boxes to test whether same thing happens with these.

Turns out as pointed out PugLove888, the issue lies with built ponds not debug ponds.

Sulani Waterfall is still an issue

  • @SparkyRabbit82 Could you test other ponds to make sure ? Also frog logs and Sulani waterfalls ? You might need to wait on a lot a bit for them to spawn.
  • @crinrictAttracting frogs only shows as an option for my adult sim in Sulani waterfalls, there's no frog option at all for the child sim. I'll keep waiting on the frog boxes.

Edit: I've spent half an hour (irl) on one of the residential lots in Henford at the top end which gives you access to all the land near the Isle of Volpe Park and no froggy loggies spawned throughout that time.

@SparkyRabbit82 Is this a pond that was built in the game or a debug pond? If it was a pond that was built, I don't recall looking for ponds on them ever counting (which is a separate issue) so I just have my children fish instead as that will count too.

    Best regards,
    Jennifer

  • @MapleSimmer As mentioned above, it's the pond in the og Isle of Volpe Park lot so I'm guessing it's one built by one of the Sim Gurus. I'm going to check out the pond in Oasis Springs and then have a lurk round there and Willow for Frog Boxes - I would have just gone down the fishing route straight away but my sim is a child of the ocean and I end up with negative moodlets everytime I fish!
  • @MapleSimmer You are absolutely spot on... my sim got badge progression when using the pond in Oasis which is a debug pond so the issue lies with built ponds! I'm going to change the title of the thread 🙂
