[S] Winter Trees Appear Through Walls

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.46.18.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All expanisions All game packs except vampires Stuff packs: Laundry day, bowling, movie, romantic garden, kids room, backyard, cool kitchen, perfect patio
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Winter season, trees covered in snow, good place to try is 64x64 lot in windenburg look at the walls, use a light colored wall paper, I have a blue wallpaper, and zoom in.
What happens when the bug occurs? The bug occurs in winter, trees from outside that are covered in snow, especially on the 64x64 lot in windenburg, glitches through the wall and sims to show an outline of the frosted tree outside, easiest to see when zoomed in.
What do you expect to see? Trees not having lines visible through walls and people during winter
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The season expansion

In the photo you can see it glitch through the wall and curtain, the second photo are the trees that cause it, note this is the 64x64 lot in windenburg. This also is not a hardware issue as I have multiple laptops, this seems to occur with frozen trees in winter that clip through objects and walls, note this also occurs with sims as well, no matter the distance it will clip however its worst the closer it is.

@crinrict I've done some light testing, and it seems that it may be a winter-exclusive problem. Yes, my problem and the other thread you linked have the same effects and parameters.

@Kyr0e Thank you for you feedback. I merged your post then. You may want to click the me too button.

I was going to change the title but if you say it's winter for you too, I'm going to leave it as is.

Hi. I've recently had this happen in my game. I couldn't figure out what was making the lines on my screen and then I figure it out that it was the trees. My game season is currently in fall atm and I am playing in Brindleton Bay.

Has anyone found a fix for this?

  • Hi,

I have  noticed this issue as well.

I play with mods and Gshade, so initially thought it could be them.

However, I have tested my game without any mod and with turned off Gshade.

I have tested it after I removed EA folder and repaired my game though (to be sure).

Issue is indeed related only to the winter time and only when there is snow on the ground and on foliage. Those thin white lines follow the camera at a certain angle.

They do not appear in CAS.

In my case, I think, its the debug grass from cottage living is giving this glitch, but might be also trees, cant be sure as I have both on my lot.

In Willow Creek and in Chestnut Ridge, in my game, is snowy winter and both worlds are with mentioned glitch currently.

I also tested the game in a sunny region, such as Dell Sol  Valley, - no glitch.

    See screenshot.

Let me know if more files needed for it.

    BR,

    Genevieve.
