[SE] [S] Sims overheating when skiing in warm weather

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.68.156.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All - issue affecting Snow Escape and Seasons
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? During warm weather (spring or summer), my sim changes into cold weather outfit when they do snow sports (skiing and snowboarding)
What happens when the bug occurs? Cold weather clothes during warm weather is giving my sims the overheating buff.
What do you expect to see? Unsure.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Snowy Escape

My sims are overheating when trying to ski or snowboard in warm weather after they change into cold weather clothes. I stopped my sim before it got so bad the sim died from overheating so unsure if they could die from overheating on the slopes. Seems to be a clash between Seasons temperature AI and the mountain being snowy 100% of the time. Would it make more sense that the mountain always has chilly-cold weather?

Edit By Crinrict: Adjusted Title, Added Base Game Version Number

  • @instantrhiiplay For me, even in summer and when it's sunny, it's still cold weather in the mountain region.

Did you actually have hot weather there ?

Yes, the temperature bar shows up as orange and says warm temperature. My sims change into hot weather outfits to walk around in and then change into cold weather to do the snow sports, then after a few slopes they get the overheating buff

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

  • I'm having this issue on PS4, it's summer today's forecast is listed as Freezing, the current weather is Sunny and Warm. People are overheating when skiing or hiking or whatever.

  • Same happens here.

It’s currently spring in my game, and my sims autonomously change into cold weather clothes when doing snowsports (sleighing, skiing, snowboarding). Even when I change their clothes, they change back into cold weather clothes.

Because of this, my sims gets an overheating-buff.
