Sims 4 Falling Weather Bug

Yep, laptop mode is on and my settings were on high, however it didn't work. 

Unfortunately it doesn't make a difference.

There is one other thing I can think of which involves you editing how the game handles your Intel graphics. This should enable your game to play at higher settings BUT please be aware that your Mac hardware is pretty low spec. The reason the game caps the settings at Medium is because the Intel chip is going to struggle rendering the game on any higher settings. If this works it may cause considerable lag in your game, plus put more strain on your Mac hardware therefore producing more heat which is not good. To reverse the changes below simply repair your game and it will replace the GraphicsCards.sgr file.

1. Right click/CTRL and click on the game in your Applications folder, select Show Package Contents then open the Contents > Resources folder and open the GraphicsCards.sgr file using TextEdit

2. CMD and F to bring up the search bar and enter 0x87C0 then hit Enter/Return. This should immediately find your Intel UHD 617 in the database. It will look like this: 

   card 0x87C0 "Intel (R) UHD 617" $cardLevelMedium $resolutionMedium

3. Change the card level setting to High so it looks like this: 

   card 0x87C0 "Intel (R) UHD 617" $cardLevelHigh $resolutionMedium

4. Quit TextEdit, the file should save automatically with your changes

If that still doesn't work, also change the resolution setting to High in the GraphicsCards.sgr file.

I'm not sure I want to put my laptop at risk for the sake of a game. If it didn't have any possible consequences than I would have given it a go. Thanks for tying to help though. I really appreciate it. 

Hi, sorry to revive a year-old post for you, but did you ever find a solution for this? Mine is doing the same. No mods currently installed, everything's up to date, etc.
