Sims are missing their upper bodies

My game is brand new and I've got 4 sims already that are missing their upper bodies (torso region). These are sims that were made in my CAS.

For instance, when I go to create a new sim and click on the "tattoo" area in CAS, his entire upper body disappears! Nothing I do brings it back. When he has clothes on, it will reappear. But if he is in his underwear or whatever, there is nothing there.

This also happened to a sim that came with the game. He twirled to get into his sleeping clothes and voila! He lost his upper body!

Has anyone else had this happen to them? What is going on in my game? I have nothing on this PC but the $80 version of Sims 4.

  • Could possibly be a graphics card issue, you might want to post your system specifications for the helpers to assess. 🙂

    GeForce GT 745M

I believe it is fully capable of running Sims 4. I'm wondering if some bad content got into my game from the community?

Are your graphics drivers updated ?

Did you add any content ? It doesn't transfer from the gallery.

Could you try renaming the whole folder in documents and letting the game create a new one ?

I've added the thread to the list

  • So I assume the problem is that you have a pair of legs and a floating head.

    • Have you tried reinstalling in case it's a corrupted texture?
    • Does the torso render underneath clothing articles like low cut tops or short sleeved shirts?
    • Do you have laptop mode turned on?
    • What settings/preset have you got the graphical options on?

Bear in mind the GT 745M doesn't pass the recommended requirements as the GTX 650 is a bit more powerful in sampling and 3D rendering. Though this is an unfair comparison between a DDR3 notebook and GDDR5 desktop GPU. Until EA give laptop requirements to compare to, it's hard to say for definite if it is either a corrupt texture issue with the installation or GPU incompatibilities.
