That's something I've tried on home lot after the latest patch and it worked fine for me.
Could you start a new game for testing purposes to see if you have the same issue ? Do close down your game completely before starting a new game.
Started a new game after a fresh restart. Both campfires worked fine on home lot. The Sim was able to play the guitar at the campfire.
Still messed up in my main game. Obviously the save file has gotten corrupted.
Also in Granite Falls ?
