i tried repairing the game, i took out all the mods, the tray and the save files (in case it was corrupted) and ran it and it was fine, but then!! once i deleted everything new i downloaded, it still didn't work, so i figured it was just my save file and moved that to a new folder, it still did not work, i moved the mods out, it still didn't work! i moved the tray out and it still didn't work! i don't understand, when i ran it and it worked properly i didn't reinstall the holiday stuff and i thought that was the issue since it worked properly, but now it isn't working again! please help me this game is WAY too expensive to have this many issuesthe lots don't load, it doesn't even go to a lot, it just zooms in on the house on the map and if i try to do a new family, it opens the lot from far away and the sims aren't there, none of this happened until the recent update.. that didn't even let me update for about a month! it kept failingalso i forgot to mention i tried a new save file and it did the same thing, and i wanted to try and save my families on to the library (the ones i didn't save) by just clicking on their lot on the map and going into cas but they don't even show up in cas

I feel like you and I combined have tried everything we possibly could and nothing seems to fix it. I've tried repairing the game twice now, and I'm about to uninstall and reinstall it, but that would probably be to no avail as well. Sorry I couldn't help, but I feel a little better knowing someone else has the same problem and it's not something that I did wrong.(and sorry for the blank message above, lol)

I did everything you said, and the thing that seems to be causing the problem for me is my "saves" folder. As soon as I added that back into the game, the glitch started again. All I had in the game before that was the "trays" folder, and it ran just fine with that. Will I have to restart my game entirely or is there a way to salvage my save file?

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.

Could you upload your saves folder to some third party site like mediafire or dropbox and then PM me the link ? Zip the folder.

I'd like to take a look if I can reproduce it.

OK, I've tried your save game. It's borked.

I was however able to load your backups. They are not the newest state but they seem to work. Not sure why a new save game did the same for you.

My suggestions is this

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

Before putting anything back, start a new game and see if the same issue occurs yet again. If not, you can start putting files back. The file Slot_00000003.save doesn't work so put back Slot_00000003.save.ver0 and remove the ver0 from the file name so that it's named Slot_00000003.save.

Then start your game and see if it still works. Your CC will be gone at this point so you see many naked and bald Sims. DO NOT SAVE THE GAME, just make sure it works. It's not the newest state but it's better than nothing, right ?

After that, you can put back your Hair, objects, clothing cc. Do not put back any mods.

Again, start your game. If it still works, you can put back the try folders and your screenshots and other stuff. You can also put back your Slot_00000002.save if you want. Haven't tried it but since you didn't start this one for a while, it should be fine. Leave out the Slot_00000001.save (the autosave) and the folders. They are not needed.

Then it's up to you to check your mods. Only put back what is redeemed safe by the creator.

Do keep a backup of those save games.

Also, I see to families on empty lots in your game. Is that on purposes or did the lots go missing ?

Wow, I cannot thank you enough!! I did everything you said and it runs perfectly fine now. Seriously, you're a genius, haha. Everything I wanted saved is still saved, I'm so relieved!
As for the empty lots, that was on purpose. I was just testing out my game because before, when I tried to go into a family, all the sims would be missing like I was in build mode in an empty house, but I could only fast forward and pause/play.
Anyway, thank you so much again!! If I can do anything at all to make it up to you, let me know! C:
