I've noticed that when you scale an object, for example a house plant, and place it down beside something the object it was placed near will disappear. I'm not sure how long it stays put for, but I know it doesn't disappear instantly. This happened to me with a resized plant beside a bench, and resized wall decals beside a bed and the castle doll house. The resized object stays the size you made it, and it lets you place it no problem. But then I went away to finish working on another part of the house, only to come back to the bench, bed and castle missing.
