I realize this thread is from at least last year, but I'm having this issue and it's driving me CRAZY!! Out of nowhere, my Sim's stove started catching on fire - every. single. time.he's not tenselevel 10 cooking (in both homestyle and gourmet)using the London's Choice stove (which I've replaced several times, both with the auto-replace after a fire and manually deleting it and replacing it from the store)I've debugged itI've repaired game filesmy lot isn't cursedmy Sim isn't clumsyThis is absolutely maddening. Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199 You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup. After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin. Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back. Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually) Tray Folder Screenshots/Videos/Custom music Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it) Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up .... ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files. Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work) The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

@Seventopia Do you have any lot traits on your lot ? Does it happen on all lots you play or just a certain one with a certain Sim ?If it's just one Sim, what traits does the SIm have ? There was a similar report like this in the german forum and for them it was a mod causing the issue. Did you try a folder rename as well ?

@crinrict It happens to all Sims, even when they have no traits like Clumsy or something. I have three Sims in the household right now, and these are their traits:1. Hot-headed, mean, genius2. Jealous, bookworm, gloomy3. Neat, art loverThe lot traits are Great View and Serviced Apartment. This problem happens on other lots too, when my Sims are visiting their friends and family and someone in those households decide to cook. @crinrict Okay, so I just tried doing all of this. The fires are still constantly happening.

@Seventopia Do you have any lot traits on your lot ? Does it happen on all lots you play or just a certain one with a certain Sim ?

If it's just one Sim, what traits does the SIm have ?

There was a similar report like this in the german forum and for them it was a mod causing the issue. Did you try a folder rename as well ?

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.

@Seventopia I tested your save and I think there's a pattern. They start fires when they get tense and since your main Sim has constant tense moodlets from some lifestyle, she starts fires a lot.

I tested another household and that was fine.

Could you check if you see a correlation between the tense mood and starting fires ?

Yeah you're right, all my other households in my saves get tense a lot and fires happen when they're tense. I didn't know about that! Thanks :D

@Seventopia Probably something they added with the trait overhaul. Not sure if it's by design though if it happens if you cook every time you're in a tense mood, especially since lifestyles give you so many.
