stuck in work mode at home, cant travel to hospital, patients spawn to sims home

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? wait for Doctor Sim to be asked to go to work, then click Join to work
What happens when the bug occurs? when you click join to work, it goes into work mode on the home lot. no option to travel to the hospital for work.
What do you expect to see? screenn. appears as if she is working, showing all the tasks in the top left corner that need to be completed by the doctor but on the home lot. a couple of times when it happened patients spawned on the home lot as well but could not be helped because my sim doesn't own medical equipment.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
coming here to see if anyone else is having this issue. every time I play with my doctor sim and it comes down to joining her to work, it allows me to join her HOWEVER she is stuck working from the home lot. it still brings the drop-down menu on the top left side with all of the things she should accomplish during her work shift (ie. diagnose three patients, administer medicine to patients. etc.) but she is at the home lot with no option to travel to her actual job. Sometimes patients even show up at her house but she can't do anything medical for them because she doesn't live at a hospital with medical equipment LOL I've saved and exited the game numerous times, tried with different sims and deleted all my mods, I literally have no clue why this is happening, and its sooooo frustrating :,( please help
