[SV] Can't make vaccines

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.79.93.1230
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Strangerville
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play through the Strangerville Mystery until you come to the vaccine portion.
What happens when the bug occurs? The option to make more vaccines is greyed out despite having enough spore clusters and bizarre fruit slides
What do you expect to see? To be able to make more vaccines, can't finish the aspiration without them.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

So I just got Sims4 + Strangerville from Origin on my mac (runs catalina). I've gotten to the vaccine point in the strangerville mystery, but after I tested one vaccine it wouldn't let me make anymore, even tho I had plenty of the bizarre fruit and spore clusters. Is there something I'm missing or is this a bug? Anyone else have this problem/know how to fix it? Super bummed, strangerville was always my fav on past Sims games and the 4 version is so fun, just wish I could get past this vaccine thing. Thanks so much.

    @dogfoodgirl 

    Which option do you see that is greyed out?  Is it "Make Experimental Vaccine"  or is it "Make Vaccine"? 

    The reason I ask is that you have to use the experimental vaccine 3 times, once on 3 different infected.   If you did use the experimental vaccine, did you get the pop up that tells you that you can make the infection vaccine.  It should pop up when you've tested the 3rd experimental vaccine on an infected.  It is different than the one that you get when you use the experimental vaccine the 1st two times.  Then the option to "Make Vaccine" becomes clickable on the special chemistry analyzer at the secret lab.  

    I am currently playing a household working on the Strangerville story and aspiration.  I had no problem with completing the aspiration on the 1st sim in that 6 sim household.  I was able to make both vaccines for all 6 sims.  Each sim tested the experimental one 3 times and all are able to make the cure vaccine now.  So I know it is working in my game.

    Hello from the future

    I am also having a similar problem. No issues with collecting spores and fruits, even going so far as to get through the experimental phase and WAS able to create real vaccines. Now I'm having an issue with my sim going to the Infection Scanner with everything he needs in his inventory but using it all up with no animation but instead of the option to continue to make it, it asks him to start over. I've moved him out of his household. I've reset both him and the scanner. I've closed and reopened the game. IDK what I'm missing here, if it's a bug. This is my first time ever tackling the mother plant and I'm bummed I can't finish his aspiration. 


    Were you able to figure anything out?
