The Sims 4: Pizza Delivery Guy Doesn't Know Outside From Inside

I had ordered a pizza, and when it finally arrived, the pizza delivery guy walked into my Sims home, and knocked on the door from inside the house. I wasn't able to accept the pizza, and the delivery guy finally placed it down on the counter. He then proceeded to have a conversation with my Sim while she ate the pizza, and then after about an hour (Sim time) he said that I didn't accept the pizza and was charged 25 Simoleons.

I thought it had to do with door direction (arrows pointing in or out) but SimGuruHouts assured me there is an "outside" but it doesn't (or shouldn't) matter which way the arrows face. The only solutions seems to be to place exterior doors with arrows out to avoid this.

Here's an image I had tweeted about the problem: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bwo7ru4IMAEaKuj.jpg:large

    First

There are 2 doors in my house: front and back.

Some visitors come through back door, walk to the front door and knock it from inside.

    ---

    Second

My house has a balcony. When I select to invite my visitors to house my sim first goes to balcony, waves to visitor then he/she goes outside and do the actual greeting.

It would be awesome if sims could invite visitors just by going out to balcony especially from the second floor.

@711green Merged with existing thread. For your second, please use the official forum for suggestion unless you want to report the waving as a bug which I'm unsure if it is.

I often have visiting sims knock on the door from the inside. I had assumed that it was because the door was placed the "wrong way", but it says in one of the above comments that they should be able to recognise the outside regardless of which way the door is placed, which makes sense since the door can be placed either way. I like to have 2 doors at the front of some houses with the handles together in the middle, and this is when I notice the visitors going inside to knock. I also think it only happens on lots where I have built the house, but I don't play many of the pre-existing ones, so can't be sure.

Certainly still happens to me though (today).

  • I think a couple things might be happening here from what I've read.

I've had this happen to one of my homes recently.  The house has multiple doors leading to the outside.

When it happened to me, the sim went in through a secondary door and knocked on the inside of the front door.

    My suggests are:

    1.  Be sure to click on the door that you want used as the front door and be sure that Set As Front Door is greyed out which means it is already set as the front door.  If it isn't, then click it.

    2.  For that door, be sure that in build mode the arrows on the door point outside, not inside.

Since I took these steps, I've had no more issues with them going to the wrong side to knock.

I had it too, but you just have to go to build mode and flip your door.

@crinrict I've not had it happen, though I do make sure the front door arrow are pointing outwards.
