Toddlers and Children won't eat and will just either sit or stand around

I am playing Sims 4 on a PC Windows computer and am having a reoccurring bug that keeps happening 100% of the time and affects children and toddlers.  When my sims hunger bar is yellow or reddish and I have my sim child or toddler get food they will proceed to get the food but will just either stand around holding the food or sit down at the table or couch/sofa but won't eat and their hunger keeps going down into red.  Also the food will disappear sometimes too as well as if my sim toddler is playing on the wabbit tablet and have them stop the tablet will disappear out of nowhere.  I do not have any mods in my game at all.  I noticed this bug yesterday when I played after the SDX drop a few days ago and received the bug issue.
