[TS] [CL] Speech-Giving Sim has Action to Watch Speech-Watcher Give Speech

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.48.90.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All EP, All GP, Laundry Day Stuff, Kids Room Stuff, Vintage Glamour Stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a Sim give a Speech using one of the Podiums from City Living.
What happens when the bug occurs? Every time another Sim decides to watch YOUR Sim give a speech, your Sim will get an action in their queue to watch the person who's watching you give a speech.
What do you expect to see? To not have the speech-giving Sim queue up the action to watch someone who's watching them. The aren't the one giving the speech, after all.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The most recent patch: 1.48.90.1020 Before this patch, these actions had never queued up on my speech-giver.

The wording is a bit weird, but what I mean is:

Sim A is giving a Speech.

Sim B decides to watch Sim A give a speech.

When Sim B starts watching Sim's A speech, Sim A gains an action to watch Sim B give a speech, in their queue.

In the picture above, Don Lothario has decided to watch my Sim give a speech, which for some reason causes my Sim to want to watch Don give a speech that he's not giving.

The same happened to the other Sim, with the blonde hair, watching the speech as well, but I had cancelled the queued action already.

This wasn't happening before the most recent patch, as I'd been giving speeches multiple times before this update and never had these actions queue up.

The actions don't cancel your current speech, but it's still weird to happen.

  • Hi @Iyasenu

    tested this and can't duplicate.

I don't get that interaction. Does it happen for you too if you have two Sims in your household and have one listen to the other ?

Is your Sim in the politician career/famous ?

Oh this Sim isn't in the Politician Career, but the PR branch of the Social Media career.

And as for Fame, yes, the Sim in the picture was a 2 Star Celebrity.

As for having my household's other Sims manually listen to the Speech-giver, yes the Speech-giving household member gained an action in their queue to listen to the watcher give a speech. (which of course they aren't giving)

Tested at my Sim's apartment using the Confident speech option, though this time the speech-giver is 3-star Fame.

In this picture I had manually made the other household Sim, Aaron, watch the speech-giving Sim, Jet, give his speech.

I switched back to Jett, and this action pops in his queue, to watch Aaron give a speech.

Could you test a fresh save to see if that has it too ?

    @crinrict

Fresh save here, I just used default Sims.

But I just noticed another thing I hadn't noticed before, as I had been switching immediately to the Speech-giver to take note of the new queued action, but...

Any Sim I manually command to watch the speech doesn't actually stay watching the speech. They'll just cancel watching after a few seconds.

Only if I let them autonomously start watching the speech will they then continue to watch the speech.

Of course whether they start watching on my command or on their own, the speech giver still gets an action in their queue to watch the Sims watching.
