Unable to identify unidentifiable plants

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.77.146.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Snowy Escape, Discover University, Island Living, Get FamousS, Seasons, City Living, Get to Work, Journi to Batuu, Realm Of Magic, Strangerville, Jungle Adventure, Parenthood, Vampires, Dine Out,Outdoor Retreat, Bowling Night, Backyard, Movie Hangout, Spooky, Cool Kitchen, Perfect Patio, Luxxary Party, Holiday Celebration Pack
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Under Aspirations It says I have identified 8/10 unidentifiable plants but if you check in my inventory I've identified all of them and even planted them. I'm unable to move on with the aspiration.
What happens when the bug occurs? There is no option to identify an unidentifiable plant.
What do you expect to see? i expect to be given the option to identify the plant but it only allows me to eat it because I've already identified them.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I identified all the unidentifiable plants but my aspiration stil says i need 2 more. I'm only given the option to eat them. Because of this i'm unable to complete the aspiration and move on.

@cldsmit If you're talking about Outdoor Retreat, I noticed something weird too. I haven't progressed in the Aspiration enough to see if I have the same problem as you, but I noticed that in my sims inventory it said Unidentified Plant, but if I hovered over the actual plant in the ground it would say what plant it was as if my sim already identified it.

I don't know if it it's the same problem but since eco living your are able to find these plants in the trash container  and since cottage living you are able to buy them at the grocery's stall or your are gifted by a bird or rabbit. If you have once one of these plants in your inventory you aren't able to identify them any more and you can't  complete the aspiration. In that case you can only use a cheat to switch to the next aspiration level.

I feel like the aspiration should be changed. I'm sad because I allways liked the aspiration and identifiing wild plants. Cheating is not the way I play.

@Melisendre Yeah I've seen them in the stalls from Cottage Living, but I never bought them because I was already planning on taking my sim to Granite Falls. I wonder if maybe just seeing them in the stall's menu somehow caused the game to identify them when I hover over them.

They definitely need to tweak the Aspiration so you're still able to complete it. By the way, I don't consider it cheating if you're fixing something that's not working as it should. Give yourself a break! 🙂

It’s weird also because now most of the plants in Granite Falls are dead and I can only dispose of them now. I’ll just have to select a new aspiration and move on until all of this is fixed.

I've had that happen before.  When that happens, you need to harvest them again and attempt to identify.  The plants in the sim's inventory should say they are unidentified at that point.  Another thing I have found is that if you look at all the plants in a stack, you might find most of them have been identified but there may be a few in that stack that still say unidentified.  Identifying those will usually complete the milestone for that plant.  It sounds like you have 2 so you'll have to figure out which ones they are.  Check your collectibles to see if all of them show up there and if not then you'll be able to see what is missing (assuming you are playing a solo sim).

And if you haven't figured it out yet, the only time of year when all 10 plants are available and will grow at the same time is Summer.  Some of them will be dirt piles during the rest of the year.

    Hope this helps.

@CGrant56 IT WORKS!!! Well the stack part worked. I was unable to identify the newly harvested unidentified fruit BUT, I did open the stack and was able to identiy them there! Thank you so much!!!
