[UNCLEAR] [GTW] Doctor Career: Guaranteed Diagnosis Was Incorrect
Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? I have all expansions and stuff packs except for the upcoming toddler pack.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I'm not sure. This was a one-time bug, but it was still a very unusual bug nevertheless.
What happens when the bug occurs? The analysis machine "strongly indicated the presence of an illness" and the patient turned out to not be sick at all.
What do you expect to see? You'd think that the analysis machine would give more accurate results.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
A while back, I encountered a very unusual bug in the Doctor career that, so far, has not occurred again since the first time it happened. I still think it's worth bringing up, though. Who knows, maybe someone else on here experienced the same issue at some point?
Okay, so my Sim was going about his work day at the hospital as usual, right? I go through all the basic tests first, and then I have him swab the patient for a sample. When he analyzed the sample, a bubble popped up which said that the results "strongly indicated the presence of an illness." As my Sim was logging the analysis results, I clicked on the patient again. Now the only diagnosis options were "Bloaty Head" and "No Illness." Logically, since the analysis results said that the patient was sick, I assumed that I basically had a guaranteed diagnosis. So I go over, diagnose the patient, and give him his shot.
Guess what happened?
The patient fell asleep! A bubble popped up saying that the treatment was ineffective, and my Sim's performance took a hit. So, you're trying to tell me that the patient wasn't sick, even though the analysis results clearly stated otherwise??? Any other time for me, when a patient turns out to not be sick, the sample results come back inconclusive. I was so dumbfounded by this that I quit without saving, and had to really think about what exactly just happened. Needless to say, when I reloaded the save, I just ignored that patient.
TL;DR: Analysis machine told me that the patient was sick. The patient was not sick!
