I haven't experienced this myself, because I haven't had teens living together age up in the same household, but I think it's just a case of awkward naming for this relationship type.For high relationship and no rivalry, they get "super siblings" because they were as close as siblings in relationship terms. If they had a slightly more neutral friendship bar, they would have got "childhood buds" instead. Or if they were rivals, they'd get "Family Frenemy".So I don't think any of these are meant to imply they're actually brother and sister, just that their relationships in childhood seemed that way.

How big was the age gap? I've noticed that unrelated sims, (if they were in the same household before either turned into YA) can get sibling buffs. Moved my teen GF into my teens household. Upon being YAs....they're now "super siblings".

@DolphinSSA According to the description given on your picture this may just be by design.

@rostsit I might call my good friend, "brother". But it would not make him my brother. A game about us would have to call us "Good Friends". In The Sims 4, it is not the sim calling his aunt "sis" (what would have been weird as well) but it is the game labeling them "Siblings", for me a nonsense.

NoPlease consider, if this isnt just a gross bug, renaming it, or voiding it if there is a romantic relationship. because its kinda either a gross bug or a gross feature. and im really hoping its a bug or an ill thought out decision

It may be a factor. The aunt was a teen living in the same household with her sister, nephew and nieces.

It's weird but think of it this way- they were both kids when they were in the house together, even though they were bloodline aunt/nephew/niece they were being 'parented' by the same group of adults. Is it weirder than my two teenaged sweethearts becoming super siblings when they aged up? They married afterwards. Soulmates, super siblings.
The flavor text also mentions 'blood or not' I think?

@verfens I suppose the 'blood related or not' was just to make it clear that adopted kids and kids from only one spouse could become a 'Super Sibling' in relation to kids from the couple.
People who are not a sister or brother cannot be called 'sibling'.
