Wall bugs into Window
Product: The Sims 4 Platform:Xbox Series S Which language are you playing the game in? Deutsch How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%) What is your current game version number? ...
I have this problem too on PC. The window will kind of clip so it's like the glass isn't in the frame. The problem in game can be resolved by using the swatch picker tool or by moving the window. It happens usually in regular lot builds but the image attached is an instance of it happening on an apartment window that is immovable.
I would say this happens at least once every time I build, and for bigger lots can happen multiple times especially if I've just loaded into the game.
This has happened when I have CC installed and also when I don't have CC installed.
It seems to mostly happen with I have used bb.moveobjects on a build or currently have it on.
I currently have installed all EPs, All GPs except JTB, All SPs expect Luxury Party Stuff, and for Kits I have Little Campers, Moonlight Chic, Blooming Rooms, Country Kitchen, Throwback Fits, Industrial Loft, Incheon Arrivals, Desert Luxe, Decor to the Max
Hello.
If anyone is still seeing this issue (without mods or cc):
*bump*
This applies to doors too! So probably anything that makes a cut-out in the wall, arches, doors, windows, all the same.
Any fellow builders have a mod free save to share? This is something that's been going on for long enough and probably on all platforms? (At least I and several others I know of are on pc)
I'm currently building with TOOL and way too stressed to start a fresh save right now just to showcase this bug. 😞
Still having this issue as of today. Playing on PC, and it has happened both with and without any CC in the game.
ISSUE: Doors & Windows are glitching so that only the frame is visible, and the section that should be a wall cutout is filled by the wall. Picking up the door/window as if to move it automatically fixes the issue, as does selecting a different swatch, and it seems to occur in greater concentration near where you have recently been placing items on the lot.
UPDATE: Glitch has now spread to lots I haven't used bb.MoveObjects for, including when I have closed & reopened the game to ensure it was off and no cheats at all were enabled. Based on this, I'm thinking the glitch might infect the save file itself, because I can't otherwise figure out why it would be effecting other lots that haven't used MoveObjects and don't have any cheats enabled.
This has just happened to me with an apartment window. Tried to click undo but no joy.
I've saved and quit, as I was right at the end of the renovation, I'll check back tomorrow and hopefully the window has reappeared.
This has been happening with lots of windows and doors on other builds but when it happens in apartments, there's nothing that can be done to rectify it.
I play on XBox Series X.
Same here on PC, no cc, Nvidia card, graphics set to sims very high, objects high, lighting low, reflections off, visual effects low, edge smoothing off, 3d scene resolution high, view distance high, uncompressed sim textures off, post processing effects off, laptop mode off. Use windowed full screen, res 1360×768, vertical sync on, refresh rate on default.
My packs are GTW, holiday stuff, seasons, dream home decorator, home chef hustle, tiny living, moschino, laundry day, toddler stuff, backyard, romantic garden, movie hangout stuff packs, and every kit except for castle, goth, grunge, pastel, decor max, carnival, modern menswear, fash street, incheon, courtyard, throwback.
Building a very detailed house, use moo & debug items also, & keeps randomly happening to a few windows, also happened in basement to door frame, big & small one, also I overlap my windows' frame a little, don't know if that detail matters. Other details; 2 story house with basement & pool is in foundation. Build is in newcrest on hillside highlands lot, & I use some platforms, 1 step higher & lower, on all floor levels of house, & the bug happened on all 3 floor levels, and only fixes when I remove & place door or window again, though I'm in middle of building on it for days, & not sure if it will only happen when I'm building, or if will when playing live too. Happens many times, diff windows too.
*Probably should note this other bug elsewhere too: not sure if it could be related, but ground can't level flat, not sure if it happened after making pool or platforms, but on left half side of house, foundation slants up wall a bit, I can't edit it to flat, can dig down into it though but only steeply..I'll have to pay attention next time I build, after certain steps, to find when something like that first happens or what causes it so I can undo in time, & report the cause.
Very busy so probably can't check on here anytime soon to add more info- just wanted to take a moment to "me too" in case it helps, with details that might help.
*also unrelated but: If I have time in future, maybe it could help if I also started a post that might give insight into game lag issue work around I found, for issue with lag going into build mode people had. It has something to do with dine out restaurant lot, or maybe island living installed, but mostly I think dine out restaurant lot started it.
All I know is, game was fine, not laggy, then added those two, seemed OK but background took while to render, probably because I had turned view distance off. Went to visit pre-made restaurant, so laggy, was terrible, got home to tiny 1 person house that was fine before, lag wouldn't stop especially worse in build mode. Got ea to remove those 2 games, & lag bug still there, repaired game, still there, cache cleared by the way still no help. Only thing that fixed it, seems when I went in options, turned view distance back on, put lighting on medium, reflections low, edge smoothing to low, played again, saved, went back in game, left view distance high, but put lighting low again, edge smoothing back to off, reflections off.
Some reason, the lag left my game just because I changed graphics around a bit. No idea why that was, & wonder if telling ea about this can figure out why people get severe build lag, & narrow it down to going into a restaurant setting it off. Or having island living, but even island living seemed fine before I went into a restaurant, except distance rendering slow.
Have a feeling dine out is the problem that introduces severe lag.
Sorry I don't have time to post that on its own post, didn't even mean to detail that far, have so much to do, I'll check if any response in future, may take long while.
