Wedding cake doesn't work when sims renew their wedding vows

Cut slice is greyed out and says the newleweds must get the first slice or something. I found this when I tried to have Bella and Morty cut the cake after their wedding. I placed it on a round table ...

I've tested this and it's still the case but I'm unsure if it's a bug or by design.

Maybe it only triggers if you have an actual wedding event ?
