Looks like the problem is back, but I think I've found a work-around and a possible reason for this. First the workaround is I'll pause the game until the action is ready to be executed, then resume and the Sim does what he/she is supposed to.
I also did a factory reset of the Sim and employed a lone Sim in the Detective career and there were no problems.
I went back to my saved games, and the problem occurred, but by using my pause/resume workaround method - it seems to be eliminated. When I go off lots to make an arrest or investigate crime scenes, the issue does not occur. It seems to occur only at the station and with any character who is a detective. Now I can tell you I have many Sims in the Detective branch, at least ten by my count. Could that be a possible reason for the lag?
To me it sounds you have a dead lock issue. Is this possible ? Like one Sim is waiting on another to finish something before proceeding ?

- Hi, Crin. Happy Easter. I don't think I have. It's funny you say that, it usually happens when prisoners are screaming in their cells. Usually I'll pause the game, resume and it seems to be eliminated. How would I send you a saved game?
Zip up your saves folder and upload to google drive, dropbox or mediafire and PM me the link to it.
The trick you mention usually helps with the deadlock so I'm thinking that's your issue. Want to see if I can duplicate

I am facing the same problem. This happens only in detective career. It is very annoying to have to wait hours for the sim perform some action.

Been a little hectic over here lately. I would be happy to show you the saved game but the file size is huge. By huge I mean 20GB. I am going to try and knock it down a few gigs if I can.
Also I noticed that someone else just reported the same problem as me.
Question for you, Deckete. Do you have a large amount of Sims in your game? I have 31 households. Saves would be helpful.
Just send me the affected one. You can go into the game, play it for a while and then go to your saves folder to find the one with the newest date.
I have a few households ja420. My save is about 220 MB.
