[WORKAROUND] [ROM] Game falsely thinks all ingredients for potion are present

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.59.73.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Sims 4 Limited Edition Sims 4 Deluxe Edition Sims 4 Magical Realm Sims 4 University
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I tried creating the potion twice and failed both times.
What happens when the bug occurs? I click the potion of rejuvenation and nothing happens. No animation of anything. It's as if I haven't clicked it. I tried making it in the magical realm too but same issue. I replaced the cauldron at home and nothing worked.
What do you expect to see? Nothing happens when I click the potion of rejuvenation.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

    Marked as Solution for Visibility. This is still an open issue.

    I tested your save and couldn't actually test it through cause I couldn't find a morcubus on your lot but I could have overlooked.

    I did get the game to no longer see the diamond as present though. I didn't test if it works if you get all the ingredients after doing so.

    Try the following steps:

    1. Backup your save
    2. Move everything in the inventory to a different Sim (you might want to turn of edge scrolling if you have that on. It's quite a bit to move)
    3. There's three items you can't move: Glimmerstone, a splice and earbuds
    4. Save your game under a new name so you don't have to do it again if anything goes wrong
    5. Make sure the spellcaster is selected and type: Inventory.purge in the cheat bar. This will get rid of everything in your inventory, incl. the invisible diamond
    6. Travel to the magic realm via portal (your glimmerstone will be gone)
    7. Request a new glimmerstone from any sage (for me it only worked on the second sage so if it doesn't appear, just ask a different one)
    8. (Re-buy your earbuds)

    can't say if it now works if you get all the ingredients but I hope so.

    After I bought Discover University my spellcaster sim can’t create Rejuvenation Potions anymore despite having the ingredients. All other potions work though. No mods or custom content. Have tried new cauldrons and even in Magic HQ. i can click on the action but it doesn’t even begin, nothing happens, no icon or anything.

    Anyone know what to do?

    I stand corrected. Appears as if the reason I couldn’t craft the potion was from lack of ingredients, yet the information on the potion said that I had all required items

    @crinrict Yes, I have crafted the potion before so I've been in possession of the ingredients, but apparently I ran out of Alabaster without the cauldron noticing that it wasn't available. Once I bought some, the potion could be crafted.

    @emarleene Merging your post with another thread on this issue. I do think there's a bug somewhere that the game thinks you have them all.

    It could be related to loosing ingredients on travelling so not sure what the problem is but I think it's worth being looked into by QA.

    @crinrict No I have never used mods. This is a rare bug.

    I play on PC. Have all the packs, Never use mods. It had happened on different households. If it happens again I will save, and keep the save file.

    I am also having this problem.  Before becoming a magic user, I tried to have my sim complete the mineral / gem collection.  For this reason, there IS a diamond on the lot but it is not in her inventory.  A diamond is needed to create the Potion of Immortality.  While Experimenting I received a notice that she had collected all the ingredients for the potion, but no matter how many times I tired, the "brew Potion of Immortality" would not appear in her queue.

    I searched her inventory and found there was no diamond, though it had added the other needed items.  At first I thought the solution was to simply put the lot diamond in her inventory, but even when she had all 4 items needed, she could not brew the potion.  I tried deleting the old cauldron and buying a new one.  I tried emptying out my inventory so only the ingredients were there.  I tried using the Copypasto spell to create duplicates and sold the originals (thinking they were glitched) but nothing worked.

    Someone posted on the Sims 4 forum that the Sim herself is now glitched because I must have saved or paused the game while she was brewing the potion the first time and now the game will never let her brew it.  The solution this player found was to have her sim lose her magical powers and start from the beginning again.  I do not have the patience to do that.  ;-)

    @Valnatron Both saves I tested, it was possible to just get new ingredients and then it worked. Since that doesn't work for you, can you send me your save too ?
