Here's the workaround again for everyone that's affected
Cook another Gourmet Fruit Cake and have the Sim eat that.That should cure the Sim
Did your Sim also eat Fruitcake first ?
Just say NO!
Never accept fruitcake from a stranger...
I only noticed this after one of the household had baked a fruitcake. In real life very few people like fruitcake even oldies like me (I think they're full of flies!), so I do like the negative reaction but, once they've eaten the dreaded fruitcake they react badly to almost everything else, no matter how good the quality is.
As noted already resetting the Sim, clearing the cache, even repairing the game all have no effect.
Solution: When the neighbor puts down the fruitcake on the table (or floor In some cases), Don't let your sim eat it. Cancel eating that, and make a meal and call them to that meal. After they are eating it, throw the fruitcake distraction away. The sims should not have the "fruitcake glitch"
