Writer's Block moodlet not showing/Sims refuse to write for no reason

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.93.146.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Expansion Packs: Eco Lifestyle, Discover University, Seasons, Get Famous, Cats and Dogs, City Living, Get Together, Get To Work | Game Packs: Vampires | Stuff Packs: Tiny Living
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1) Begin writing a lot of books. 2) Stop writing them as soon as they have been created. 3) Try to resume writing a book, or create a new book. The bug should happen.
What happens when the bug occurs? When attempting to write a book, or resume writing one, the sim will just cancel the action automatically, without any (obvious) cause whatsoever. If you try resume writing it, or create a new book, they will just keep cancelling it, no matter what you do.
What do you expect to see? The sim should write the book without automatically stopping the action. Exceptions being writer's block, needs, or player stopping the action manually.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

The issue started out of the blue, mid game. A few moments ago, books were being written, and all of a sudden, the sim just kept cancelling it. I've tried switching (in game) computers, restarted the game, cleared all buffs, reset the sim (Using shift click), scrapping the books, yet nothing worked. However, when restarting the game, and trying to resume writing, they stop it, and writers block appears.

    I have since fixed the issue. I have determined the root cause of the issue being the Writers Block trait not appearing, but it's affect still happening. Like the buff was not visible on my sim. However, when I restarted the game, and tried to write, the buff appeared. I then removed the buff, restarted, and resumed writing. The issue has since subsided.

    @Emperor_ivang36 have you tested this without mods/cc ?

    Do you have anything on your Sims desk other than the computer ? Did you test if it happens to other Sims as well ?

    This has been happening in my game for a while now, and what I do is to cue another action with the writting one this way my sim can finish writting without it get canceled.

    @booksfire Same questions to you. There's several threads already on the topic so I need to know which thread to move into.

    Do you have mods/cc ?

    Interesting that it works if you queue something after though.

    without mods/cc it still happens all the time, I've remove them and I've playing with another family and still happens even without the writers block buff and restarting the game. I can work around it, just adding this here to answer your question 😉

    @Emperor_ivang36 I've had this happen too. It doesn't seem to matter whether it's a modded game (MCCC, UI Cheats only) or if all the mods are removed, localthumbcache.package removed, etc. It is happening in my game when the Sim has been doing a lot of writing, so it would make sense that it would be "writer's block".

    Why is it that the writer's block buff isn't showing up? That's a bug all on its own.

    What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Vintage Glamour, Vampires, Spooky Stuff, Spa Day, Seasons, Romantic Garden, Realm of Magic, Perfect Patio, Parenthood, Outdoor Retreat, Movie Hangout, Luxury Party, Laundry Day, Kids Room, Jungle Adventure, Holiday Celebration, Get Together, Get to Work, Get Famous, Fitness Stuff, Dine Out, Cool Kitchen, City Living, Cats and Dogs, Bowling Night, Backyard Stuff.
    Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Try to write a book for longer than a few in-game hours, or until the action cancels itself and keeps doing so when attempts are made to resume.
    What happens when the bug occurs? Action to write is canceled. I cannot get the sim to continue.
    What do you expect to see? Given that my sim has the 'carefree' trait I expect the 'writer's block' tense moodlet not to effect my play.
    Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
    Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

    I know this bug has been around before, but for me either it never left or it's back with a vengeance.

    I haven't played for a few years, but came back thinking I'd give it another go and I am now facing a bug that there doesn't seem to be a workaround for.

    I do use mods, mostly to control aspects of the game that are either buggy or excessive is some way and interferes with the flow of the game, but this problem persists even when the mod folder is completely removed.

    @Dollymixtures Merging this into the invisible writer's block thread although you have the trait (maybe the trait is the actual issue).

    You can find your game version in the lower right corner of the main menu,.
