[XB] Toddler runs away to pass out with low energy

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Xbox Series X
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
What is your current game version number? 1.81.2.2300
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All content installed except for Vampires, Bust the Dust and High School Years
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Allow a toddler to reach critically low energy levels.
What happens when the bug occurs? The toddler attempts to run away or actually succeeds in running away. They either start running and pass out on the way to the door, or on the front driveway or they run right across the neighbourhood. They can't be stopped as the only thing that's queued is to pass out and it can't be cancelled. They don't accept any commands and the parents freeze, they won't put them to bed or pick them up or follow them. The whole thing can take around 3 to 4 Sim hours to resolve depending on how far the exhausted little mite can run.
What do you expect to see? I expect a tired toddler to pass out with an energy failure on the spot, I don't expect them to run for the door or keep running.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

So this happened a few times in my game over a period of about 4 hours. Little Owen has just been adopted, he gets potty training and then a bath before bed but if he's too tired he runs out of the bathroom and towards the door to pass out. Then he just kept running until he was halfway across San Sequoia. His parents couldn't pick him up and just froze there. I ended up clicking a spot for his mother to go to but she wasn't running and he was (images attached). I exited to Manage Worlds and went back but that made no difference. Eventually he dropped to the ground with exhaustion and finally passed out. His mother caught him and had quite a walk back to the house, by this point it was early morning. So then I had to get her to put him to bed but it kept cancelling and his levels had dropped so badly I'm surprised he wasn't taken away.

In the first image you can see him running from his house. He has high relationships with his family and he has the Angelic trait and Picky Eater, Early Riser and Little Singer Quirks. He doesn't have the Wanderer quirk or that might have explained it. He only runs off when it says he's going to pass out. He has level 3 Movement Skill.

I'll start locking the door for toddlers in future incase this happens again and I've been hyper vigilant over his energy levels as well, but they are dropping rapidly after he's been awake for about 8 to 10 hours which is faster than usual in my experience.

  • @simsplayer818 Have you tried on any other lot? I think some of the San Sequoia lots have buggy understanding of what is and isn’t on or near the lot…

@PipMenaceNo I haven't tried anywhere else since this happened and I haven't seen it before, but I was going to test it on a new household. This is the first toddler in San Sequoia now you mention it. The other households have infants or child age children. I was planning on putting my new test family in San Sequoia too, but I'll place them somewhere else to test it instead. Good idea, thanks!

Edit: tested outside of San Sequoia and it hasn't happened anywhere else so far.

Hi, I worked out a fix - for my game at least. I noticed the toddler bolting down the street and thought it was part of the game? Like a form of a tantrum?

I had testing cheats enabled (Ctrl+C, type testingcheats true and hit enter) then reset the toddle by holding shift, clicking on her and clicking "Reset Object (Debug)".

I've never had this happen before, can I check what mods you're using?

I only have better butlers and live in services.

    Hope it works for you!
